Where does a moderately popular internet star who never leaves her house look for potential suitors? Online. Tinder, Bumble, Match.com, OkCupid - I tried them all. My 31-year-old self clicked and swiped her little heart out, leading to more dates than I could count, and more disappointment than I was prepared for.
Maybe you can relate. Maybe you know all too well the perils of modern dating. But let’s say, eventually, you meet someone. You think to yourself, “Wow, they’re perfect! Take me off the market, put a ring on it, knock me up, the whole enchilada, because they are ‘the one.’” Let’s also say that they “feel the same way” about you. Your life starts to make sense! All the pain, heartbreak, and frustration from past failed relationships was worth it. Slow clap.
That’s how I felt about Milos. He was from Europe, a doctor, wealthy, athletic. He had an accent and a dog. Milos was textbook marriage material. For him it was “love at first sight”, but for me, it was “anxiety on every date”. Something was telling me to run - but for two years, the only running I did was straight into his arms.
If only I would have listened. This isn’t a love story. It’s my story of survival.

astounding
This book was incredible. I finished it beginning to end in less than 24 hours. what an incredible story and such an incredible woman. what a true mother. I can't wait to buy the book to read it myself and will recommend this to everyone I know. well done

Broke my heart
When I was a teen Brittany was one of my favourite YouTubers and when things became quiet on the platform for her I had always wondered what had happened. To hear what really happened broke my heart, watching her videos and thinking about what was really going on behind them was truly heartbreaking. Her narration is very much like her videos and I'm glad that she breaks up the story with titbits of her personality as it softens areas of heaviness between chapters. I also feel like not only is this a story about a sucky love story but a real love story about the love and friendship of motherhood.

an intriguing story with some narration problems
The constant upticks in the narrator's voice were irritating at times and distracted from the story. It is her story and she should be the one to tell it I just wish she received some coaching first.

Constantly Gripping, Scarily Relatable
The reading by Brittani was perhaps a little robotic in places but was by no means a distraction from the story she was telling. I myself had recently left an abusive relationship when I first learnt of her break up through her hints on YouTube and was immediately interested to hear of someone else's story when she said she had a book on the way. I hope I'm one day in a place where I can write my experience out in a similar style as this was casual but deep and constantly kept me gripped, hoping for her happy resolve. In the UK, I have unfortunately been let down by our legal system but am glad to hear of the US one working for Brittani and that she had the smarts to take so many notes on her scary journey! Best of wishes to her, her mother and little Rex.
