Summary

In this “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go, long after you’ve finished it” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author) from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of All Your Perfects, a workaholic with a too-good-to-be-true romance can’t stop thinking about her first love.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).

Lucky Lily

While this book may be a reflection on many women who suffer domestic violence by narcissistic men, Lily has the luxury of money and support unlike many others.
Men with these characteristics pleasure in control and manipulation leaving the victim powerless to manage even the simplest of tasks.
This book barely scratches the surface.

It ends with us

I literally cried all the way through this book. The way it was performed brought the whole book to life and I really felt like I was there. Olivia Song narrated the book so well that I didn't want to stop listening to it but then I didn't want to stop either. I'm hopeful Lilly and Rile ended up happy with there lives, that's what I find myself thinking because the book was so realistic. I have total respect for Colleen Hoover for writing the book with her parents in mind. I totally would recommend this book, but please have plenty of tissues, you will need them!!

Heart breaking story and had me thinking for a while

I loved how Hoover developed the characters and made you fall in love with them. The book had me feeling a mixtures of emotions and made me wanting more. No doubt that the book was a little cringey but it’s because I am not the biggest Ellen fan.

Only dislike was that when listening to the book it would make me cringe when female voice actor would do a male voice. I would have preferred a separate voice actor for the male characters.

Beautifully and sensitively written

Beautifully and sensitively written story that touches on some uncomfortable feelings and issues. Only qualm is the incredibility of the story and it feels a bit unrealistic at times but then again, it's not a biography.

amazing

Coleen Hoover this book is a credit to both you and your mum . first chapter or two thought this was was going to be a romantic mills and bond kinda book not my genre, but then unexpectedly it took a dark turn. it's given me a new perspective on women in abuse relationships,, "Why don't they leave? things are never black and white. This book will stay with me for a long time to come. Thank you.

Fantastic!

Love, love, love this book. The author captures beautifully the complexity of abusive relationships from the viewpoint of the victim. Thank you.
