About this listen

The gripping new thriller featuring DS Maeve Kerrigan and DI Josh Derwent from the Top Ten Sunday Times bestselling author

Every mother's worst nightmare . . .

When nine-year-old Rosalie Marshall vanished from her bed one summer night, her disappearance tore her family apart.

Now, sixteen years later, her mother Helena is found dead, her husband by her side. It looks like a straightforward murder-suicide but DS Maeve Kerrigan and DI Josh Derwent soon discover nothing about this case is straightforward.

The Marshalls have been keeping secrets. And someone is prepared to kill to hide the truth. Until Maeve finds out what happened to Rosalie, no one will be safe . . .

Completely Gripping Listen

It’s always a treat when the new Maeve Kerrigan arrives from Jane Casey. It never disappoints and this one was no different. Really well plotted, great characterisation and excellent narration from the very talented Caroline Lennon. And the ending, absolute genius and leaving listeners desperate for the next instalment. Fabulous.

I can honestly say these books are my all time favourite.. I have listened to them a few times now and just finished this last book and I would do anything to get the next book like now ... I have an unhealthy love of josh .. I never want this series to end

Brilliant story.

Another gripping story full of suspense, twists and turns. Lots of emotional times between Derwent and Meabh too. Excellent narration too. Please keep these stories coming, I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them.

Great characters

It’s a good standalone case, but I really love the evolution of the characters and the relationships in this series.

Maeve is back!

Yay Maeve is back! I absolutely love this series and love the character of Maeve Kerrigan, who feels like a friend. in this book Jane Casey has created a very clever plot and the story soon gets very dark indeed. There are lots of twists which kept me guessing. And then there is THAT ending!!

Great narration by Caroline Lennon.

Great books & great narration.

I love the Maeve & Josh ‘will they, won’t they’ storyline but also the mysteries set around the cases they have to solve.
The narration as always is fantastic, I never want these books to end. I’ve listened to all of them & can’t wait for the next book.

well read

An interesting story, well written as always by Jane Casey and very well read by Caroline Lennon but it would have been so much better without all the 'will they, won't they' between Maeve and Josh when you know all along they will in the end. Almost soft porn at times - boring

I think this series has become my absolute favourite. Please don’t let it be long until the next book.
