Terry Schmidt followed an unusual path to become a thought leader in strategic planning and project management. After earning an aerospace engineering degree and working briefly for NASA, he earned his Harvard Business School MBA and edited the campus newspaper. He became a planner for the US Department of Transportation in Washington DC, and after deciding that big business and big government was not for him, he became a consultant to developing countries, designing projects and training managers for World Bank and USAID funded projects. Terry then formed his own consulting firm, and has helped leaders at all levels in 36 countries to apply best practice methods to think, plan, act, and get great results. He worked with the original LOGICAL FRAMEWORK APPROACH creators, and improved this powerful system to make it simpler and easier to use on a wider basis. His best-selling book STRATEGIC PLANNING MADE SIMPLE features the LOGICAL FRAMEWORK, and combines the best ideas from strategic planning, project management, and the scientific method into a step by step process to get better results faster. Terry is founder of www.ManagementPro.com, and of StrategicPlanningAcademy.com. He is a certified PMP, and the fourth person in the world to receive the distinguished Strategic Planning Professional certification from the Association for Strategic Planning (ASP). He regularly teaches executive programs at UCLA and MIT, and developed the SHARPEN YOUR STRATEGIC SUPERPOWERS program. Terry's clients invite him to help sharpen their strategies, develop robust action plans quickly, and implement smoothly to achieve goals. A dog lover, Terry is proud that his "strategy topdog" Mushka won first prize in the ASP video contest. This makes Terry the second most famous strategist in his family, following his dog!
