Steve Murphy has spent much of his life in some sort of uniform, starting with four years in the Navy and then a stint in the Army National Guard. As if he hadn’t had enough, Steve then became a police officer in a large suburban city where he spent 23 years. Fourteen of those years he was on the SWAT team and 9 of which he worked as a sniper. So naturally he writes in the genres – science fiction, fantasy and space opera. He has three novels, Knight Errant, Knight Ascendant and Scribe of Destany, with many more in the works with Paul Barrett. Paul and Steve have also written several screenplays some of which have been optioned by various production companies. Steve is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys camping, backpacking, whitewater, skiing, sailing and motorcycle riding. He has also been accused of enjoying good bourbon, wine and cigars; of which he would give all up for a good cup of coffee. Steve lives on a 12-acre farm somewhere in North Carolina with his wife, two dogs and an allusive cat.
