Sol Smith is a liberal arts professor, life coach, writer, speaker, social media personality, and autistic person who holds advanced degrees in psychology, education, and writing. Sol spent over two decades as a college professor, always feeling and doing things a little out of step from everyone else before realizing that his differences had a lot to do with his being autistic. Since the realization that autism describes him and many of his life experiences, he has shifted professional focus to advocacy of neurodiversity and coaching other autistic and ADHD people to make meaningful changes to gain autonomy within their lives. Sol’s speaking skills have brought him a following of hundreds of thousands on TikTok and led to educational seminars about neurodiversity with companies in Australia, Ireland, Canada, and the United States. He is the founder of Square Peg Coaching and Consulting (ProfessorSol-dot-com). He also manages the NeuroSpicyCommunity, where autistics and ADHDers come together to better understand their experiences. Sol lives in Southern California with his wife and four children. When not working, reading, or writing, Sol likes to go to Disneyland with his family, where his wife works and where they got engaged. Aside from psychology, Sol is also interested in musicology, anthropology, quantum physics, the night sky, and toys from the 1980s.
