Lydia Dominguez honorably served ten years in United States Air Force. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and has ten years of experience in human resources. Despite her professional background in human resources, she has a very emotional and comprehensive view on spousal violence, divorce, and personal growth. She relies on more than a decade of personal experience, as well as the stories of others who have been in similar situations, to educate and encourage abused women to escape their abusers and begin to recover. Her previous military experience and faith has infused the book with practical guidance and spiritual approaches that women may utilize when they are most in need. ​ During a twelve-year relationship, she attempted to escape her abuser seven times. Each time, Lydia was determined never to go back—until she did. She was affected by severe physical, emotional, and financial abuse. With her book Don’t Turn Back, she hopes to promote self-awareness, accountability, empowerment, healing, and forgiveness. ​ Lydia now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her two children.
