Ms. Healy grew up in Dayton, Ohio, the home of the Wright Brothers. She lived by their house, Hawthorn Hill, as had her parents and grandparents. Her undergraduate work was done in history at Denison University and Ohio State University and her graduate work at Wright State University as well as Schools in Austria and France. A Flight First is the last book in the Trilogy; the other two, Wrights’ European Odyssey and The Original Wrights. "I was raised in Oakwood, Ohio. Orville Wright's house was by ours so I was immersed in aviation at a young age. Realizing, in later years, no book had ever been written on Orville's life, although he lived until 1948, I decided to write a novel on the life of the first man to fly."
