David is a native of Ireland and lives on the east coast near Dublin. Having travelled extensively during his career, David says that he has never found a place as beautiful as Connemara in the west of Ireland in all of his travels. Since retiring from a busy work life as a Programme Manager, David has written three highly successful series of crime fiction books. The Galway Homicide series is set in and around Clifden in Connemara where the wonderful scenery of the place forms an important part of the stories. The series starts with Murder on the Old Bog Road, and continues with many of the same characters throughout, as they bring some nasty villains to justice. The Dublin Homicide series is grittier, though not overly violent, and features some very twisty tales, often, though not always, involving international crime. DI Burke and DS Moore have their hands full with these complex cases that keep the reader turning the pages till the very end. The Wexford series featuring DI Vikki Kirkby is a fresh look at crime in the south east of Ireland. And now, The Mayo Mysteries, starting with The Farmyard Mystery. A new series of compelling crime fiction featuring DI Martin O'Shea and DS Deirdre Maguire. David is an avid reader of crime fiction. He particularly admires Ann Cleeves, and enjoys the TV renditions of Vera, Shetland and the Morse and Lewis series written by Colin Dexter. Ian Rankin's Rebus series with Ken Stott is another favourite. A keen photographer, David visits Connemara as often as his writing will allow to capture the beauty of the place on film.
