I’m a 43-year-old husband and father of two beautiful girls, ages seven and three. Reading to my children has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, not just for the joy it brings but for the profound impact it has had on their development. My oldest daughter, through our shared love of books, has reached a sixth-grade reading level—confirmed through school testing. This reaffirmed to my wife and me the incredible importance of reading, a belief I now strive to instill in young readers everywhere through my books. What began as a simple idea to personalize a book for my daughters turned into a journey of storytelling that has led me to self-publish a collection of picture books, chapter books, novels, and activity books. I currently have over ten completed manuscripts awaiting publication, each created with the goal of fostering a love for reading in children. My career in insurance adjusting, where I spent years reading and drafting documents, unknowingly prepared me for this creative path. However, in 2018, my life took an unexpected turn when I suffered a severe stroke that forced me to leave the conventional workforce. Limited in physical activity, I found solace in books—both reading them and writing my own. Reading became a source of healing and motivation, and seeing my daughters’ excitement during our story time sessions only deepened my commitment to creating books that inspire, entertain, and educate. As I continue this journey, I eagerly anticipate the next chapter of my life, knowing that each new story—both on the page and in my own experiences—will only add to a greater, more remarkable legacy.
