Operation Tidal Wave tells the story of the bloodiest air battle in the history of war. It is about 1,700 airmen who set out to bomb the oil refineries surrounding the city of Ploesti, Romania, on August 1, 1943. Success, they thought, would be a force in ending the war. Success, instead, was extremely limited, and 500 airmen were killed, wounded, captured, or interned. Negligible damage resulted at the Ploesti refineries, and a few months later, they were operating at 100 percent capacity.

Why would a nine-year-old girl walk out of her parents' cabin in the middle of the night? Why would she abandon the warmth of her bed for the unforgiving cold of a Montana winter? And why was she never seen again? Twenty years later, her uncle is gruesomely murdered just as the remains of children are discovered hidden inside a cave a few miles from where she disappeared.

Every cop has a case they can’t let go of. The Nash case is rookie FBI agent Thomas Kamea’s. Now that he’s a federal agent, maybe their resources plus the advances in technology will help him bring the murderer to justice. Maybe then Cedric Nash’s lifeless eyes will stop haunting his nightmares.
