“I think John would be very unhappy in the fourth dimension,” said Mrs. Watson, as she and her husband contemplated investing in the new and mysterious time machine called The Paradol Chamber. An irritated Holmes comes along to see the contraption for himself, and he and Watson take a very unscheduled trip—in the company of a corpse!

Inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard is baffled by a strange case involving an apparent madman bent on smashing plaster busts of Napoleon. When the case takes a violent turn, the inspector calls in his friend Sherlock Holmes, the brilliant consulting detective. She asks Sherlock Holmes to ascertain her whereabouts. The detective is quite worried about this young woman, who's travelling on her own, carrying valuable jewelry with her.

The Case of the King Phillips Golden Salver concerns the strange disappearance of an elaborate golden platter sent to Queen Elizabeth by Philip of Spain. It was of course a priceless historical masterpiece, which belonged by rights with the rest of the crown jewels in the Tower of London.
