Il piccolo principe (Le Petit Prince) è un racconto breve molto poetico difficilmente etichettabile come libro per ragazzi. Scritto da Antoine de Saint-Exupery nel 1943, affronta temi come l'amicizia, l'amore, l'attaccamento. Accompagnato dai disegni originali dell'autore (che sono presenti nei tag degli audiofiles) e da una delle sue musiche favorite (il Notturno n. 13 di Chopin) il racconto evoca, attraverso un velo di malinconia, la gioia di un vivere pieno, senza maschere e schemi mentali dettati dal "mondo".

La novela fue publicada en abril de 1943, tanto en inglés como en francés, por la editorial estadounidense Reynal & Hitchcock, mientras que la editorial francesa Éditions Gallimard no pudo imprimir la obra hasta 1946, tras la liberación de Francia. Incluido entre los mejores libros del siglo XX en Francia, El principito se ha convertido en el libro escrito en francés más leído y más traducido.
