  • Summary

  • True North Heists tells the tales of some of the most outlandish capers ever committed on Canadian soil. Acting legend Colm Feore (Bon Cop Bad Cop, Trudeau) dramatically weaves together “in the moment” storytelling with interviews with those with deep knowledge of the heists themselves, including law enforcement officers, writers and the criminals themselves. All capped off with a soundscape designed to keep the listener on the edge of their seat.

Not bad

What could be more Canadian than a maple syrup heist? This is just one of a number of entertaining true crime stories featured here. The recordings include interviews with journalists, investigators and those involved with the crimes. Although the infamy of Canadian criminals is often overshadowed by their southern neighbours, there are some outrageous and sometimes amusing stories in here.

Some of the presentation a bit annoying, e.g. everyone is introduced as "X, news journalist" or whatever beforehand. I'm not a fan of that style, although Colm Feore's voice is pleasant enough.

Then story lines lacking in detail

Not a very good quality production stories are just bare bones. instead of quantity of stories fewer stories of better quality would be more appreciated. Narration was rather annoying.

Interesting

Narrator was good and clear. Different stories interesting and understandable.
Enjoyed listening to this, not too sure how engrossed I'd have been if it was in reading book form.
