In this podcast episode, we explore the profound truths found in the preface of Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer. Tozer emphasizes the critical need for believers to rediscover the discipline of silence and solitude in their spiritual lives. He challenges us to step away from the noise of the world and make sacrifices to create space for uninterrupted time with God. This sacrifice of silence allows for deep reflection, prayer, and communion with the Creator, fostering a greater understanding of His holiness. Tozer warns that neglecting this practice diminishes our awareness of God’s majesty and weakens our faith. The episode encourages listeners to prioritize quiet moments with God, cultivating awe and reverence for His presence.

In this episode, we take a look into the background of our first featured author, A. W. Tozer.

Tozer hailed from the tiny farming community of La Jose in Western Pennsylvania. He was converted to Christianity as a teenager in Akron, Ohio: While on his way home from work at a tire company, he overheard a street preacher say, "If you don't know how to be saved ... just call on God, saying, 'Lord, be merciful to me a sinner.'" Upon returning home, he climbed into the attic and heeded the preacher's advice.

Special thanks to Mike Tobin and the Alliance World Fellowship.
