    Our lively discussions, including comments and questions from our audience, are always full of valuable content.



    We are publishing our Rethinking Aging Club archives back to Nov 2021 by category until we catch up; with CES Highlights first, then Caregiver Friendly Products and Fitness and Wellness.



    It will take us about six months to get all of the approximately 100 remaining shows published by category in our podcast. However, you can listen to all of them on the Clubhouse replays.

  • Caregiver Friendly Planning, Care Managers, GUIDE program, Bedsheets

    In this episode, we explore caregiver friendly products in recognition of November as the month for both National Family Caregivers and Alzheimer’s Awareness. Speakers highlight a broad range of tools for easing caregiver stress, improving planning tools, patient care, and ensuring better quality of life for both caregivers and receivers.

    Deborah Harlow, Founder, The Joyful Leader and Joint Creator of the “Women Who Care” Planning and Self-Care Challenges for Caregivers, shared WWC’s new, complimentary “Easy Planning Challenge for Caregivers,” which is especially designed for busy caregivers and caregivers-to-be. “Intentional planning can make all the difference in a caregiving journey, creating sustainable routines that keep caregivers balanced and supported.”

    Kate Granigan, CEO, LifeCare Advocates and 2024 President of the Aging Life Care Association, described the role of life care managers in navigating caregiving challenges, finding resources, and supporting caregivers nationwide. “Care management services give caregivers back their time and let them be present with their loved ones rather than getting overwhelmed by logistics.”

    Marty Agather, VP Marketing & Sales, Embrace Prevention Care, introduced the Medicare-backed Guide Dementia Care Program, which provides personalized care plans, medication management, 24/7 call support, and up to $2,500 annually for respite care. “The Guide Program is aimed at supporting dementia caregivers, with resources and relief through Medicare-supported benefits.”

    Nancy McGovern, Founder, Comfort Linen (and Former Physiotherapist) shared her journey developing low-friction bedsheets and garments that enhance mobility and sleep quality, while reducing injuries among caregivers. “With Comfort Linen, we’re creating more independence for care receivers and reducing the physical strain for caregivers.”

    This episode focused on the very important area of nutrition. Jessica Cooper, Chief Science Officer for Opsis Health, introduced Plateful, a free app that uses AI to analyze food intake and provide personalized dietary recommendations. Regretfully, Opsis Health filed for bankruptcy in March 2024. You will still benefit from learning about it. Jessica is currently Director of Lifestyle Medicine for Metrodora Institute.

    Mory Bahar, CEO, Personal Remedies discussed their fully automated nutritional guidance system, which considers multiple chronic conditions and medications. We were fortunate to meet Mory through the HLTH conference.

    Odo von Wolfen explained Biostarts' $199 blood tests that analyze biomarkers and provide dietary recommendations. There are three separate products for Longevity, Sports and Nutrition.

    Alka Sahnan shared insights from the nursing home she manages in the UK, emphasizing the importance of natural, varied diets and regular weight monitoring.

    Michael Phillips explained AARP's nutrition research.
    Steve Ewell, Director of the Consumer Technology Association Foundation talked about the growth of food tech at CES.
