Episode 1: Bear Grylls

Trained from a young age in martial arts, Bear Grylls OBE spent three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces following which he became one of the youngest climbers ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Since starring in seven series of the Discovery Channel’s Emmy Award-nominated Man vs. Wild TV series, he has hosted more extreme adventure TV shows across more global networks than anyone else in the world, including five series of Running Wild with Bear Grylls which featured Bear taking the likes of President Obama, Julia Roberts and Roger Federer on incredible adventures. He has won two BAFTAS for Channel 4 show The Island with Bear Grylls. His best-selling autobiography, Mud Sweat and Tears is one of 95 books he has written. He is an Honorary Colonel to the Royal Marines Commandos, the youngest ever UK Chief Scout, and the first ever Chief Ambassador to the World Scout Organization.

Episode 2: Minnie Driver

Minnie Driver rose to prominence with her break-out role in 1995's Circle of Friends. She went on to star in a wide range of films including the cult classic Grosse Pointe Blank, Gus Van Sant's Good Will Hunting, for which she was nominated for both the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Screen Actors Guild Award, the musical The Phantom of the Opera, Owning Mahowny, and providing the voice of Lady Eboshi in Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke. In television, Driver starred with Eddie Izzard in The Riches for which she was nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe. She has starred in the ABC sitcom Speechless, the NBC sitcom About a Boy, and in a recurring role in the NBC series Will & Grace.

Episode 3: Lennie James

Lennie is a British actor, screenwriter, and playwright. His work includes playing Morgan Jones in the television series The Walking Dead, and in its spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead, and starring as DCI Tony Gates in the first series of Line of Duty. Lennie created and starred in Sky Atlantic drama series Save Me which was released in 2018 to critical acclaim. Its second season, titled Save Me Too, won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Drama Series 2021.

Episode 4: Jonathan Ross

Jonathan Ross has been one of the UK’s most popular TV presenters since making his debut in 1987 with Channel 4’s The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross. After fronting eighteen series of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on BBC One he will be completing the tenth series of The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV this year. Jonathan has interviewed everyone from Madonna to Sir David Attenborough. The presenter has won no fewer than five BAFTA Awards as well as four TRIC Awards. In 2012 Jonathan was awarded a special recognition award at the National Television Awards. Jonathan is also one of the country’s leading aficionados in the movie industry; he hosted the BBC’s critically acclaimed Film show for eleven years from 1999 - 2010.

Episode 5: Nadia Stacey

Nadia Stacey is one of the world’s leading hair and make up artists for TV and film. From her first credit as Hair & Make-up Designer on Paddy Considine’s BAFTA-winning debut feature Tyrannosaur she has since worked on films including Sightseers, Pride, Eddie the Eagle and The Girl with All the Gifts. Her work on Oscar-winning period drama The Favourite won her a BAFTA and BIFA – and she picked up an Oscar nomination for her incredible vision for Disney’s Cruella. She is currently working on the live action remake of Snow White.

Episode 6: Tom Felton

Tom first caught the industry’s attention as Draco Malfoy in the internationally beloved Harry Potter films, and has since gone on to play leading roles on screen working as both an actor and producer. He plays the lead in Left Back Pictures sci-fi hit Origin, an original series for YouTube, a series lead in CW’s The Flash, TNT’s Murder In The First, Neil LaBute mini-series Full Circle and Ridley Scott’s Labyrinth. On film he’s starred in blockbusters such as The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes as well as Belle directed by Amma Asante, with whom he collaborated for a second time with on A United Kingdom alongside Rosemund Pike and David Oyelowo. He starred in independent film In Secret opposite Jessica Lange, Elizabeth Olsen and Oscar Isaac which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival, Sony Pictures independent feature Feed, the role of Laertes in Claire McCarthy’s Ophelia with Daisy Ridley and Naomi Watts, Risen opposite Joseph Fiennes, Megan Levy alongside Kate Mara, independent feature Braking For Whales and went back to his villainous routes in Netflix’s family-horror A Babysitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting.

Episode 7: Gary Barlow

Gary Barlow OBE is one of the United Kingdom's most successful songwriters. He began writing songs at age 15. When he was 19, he was approached by manager Nigel Martin-Smith to front a new boy band - Take That - as lead singer and songwriter. He has clocked up 13 No.1 singles, eight No.1 albums, six Ivor Novellos and eight Brit Awards. He is now doing a life retrospective solo theatre show called A Different Stage.

Episode 8: Frank Warren

Frank Warren, founder of Queensberry Promotions, has been in the business of creating champions for over 40 years, guiding the careers of Britain’s foremost stable of boxers. The Hall of Fame promoter has represented the boxing interests of a galaxy of superstar fighters including renowned world champions such as Prince Naseem Hamed, Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe, Amir Khan, Frank Bruno and Steve Collins. He has guided 149 fighters to world championship success. An innovator, the now veteran promoter has broken new ground since his entry into professional boxing in 1980. He delivered live boxing for the first time to major broadcasters ITV, Sky Sports, Setanta and BT Sports, while also launching a world-first dedicated boxing channel in BoxNation and was a pioneer in the advent of Box Office events in Britain and the now customary fan-friendly elements of attending a live show – lighting, music, professional MCs, ring card girls and spectacular entrances – were all introduced by the promoter when he shook up the sport on arrival and continues to do so to this day.

Episode 9: Richard Osman

Richard Osman is an author, producer and television presenter. He began his career working behind the scenes in TV – on shows such as Deal Or No Deal and 8 Out of 10 Cats - before moving in front of the camera for Pointless. However a career change has seen him become one of the most successful authors this century! His first two novels, The Thursday Murder Club and The Man Who Died Twice were multi-million-copy record-breaking bestsellers around the world. The Bullet that Missed is his third book. He lives in London with his partner and Liesl the cat.

Episode 10: Melanie C

Melanie Jayne Chisholm was born in Whiston, Lancashire, and grew up in Widnes, Cheshire. She rose to fame as a member of The Spice Girls, who would become the bestselling girl group of all time. In 1999, she released her first solo album Northern Star, which sold four million copies worldwide, and since then has released seven albums, including the UK Top 10 album Melanie C in 2020. Including collaborations Melanice sold 23 million records as a solo artist.

Episode 11: Ellie Simmonds

Eleanor ‘Ellie’ Simmonds OBE is a five-time Paralympic Champion, fourteen-time World Champion and arguably the most recognisable Paralympian on the planet. Ellie shot to fame when she won her first Paralympic medals at just 13 years old at the Beijing Paralympic Games, a year after becoming the youngest person ever to represent a senior GB swimming team at a World Championships as a 12-year-old. Ellie went on to become the youngest winner of the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2008 and then the youngest recipient of an MBE at the age of 14, with an OBE to follow in 2013. In 2021 she competed in her final Paralympics before retiring. Alongside working with charities Dwarf Sports Association, WaterAid and I AM WATER, Ellie has transitioned into a life in the media with her recent BBC1 investigative documentary Ellie Simmonds: A World Without Dwarfism earning rave reviews.

Episode 12: Dr Waheed Arian

Waheed was born in Afghanistan in 1983 and spent his childhood in the middle of the Soviet conflict. After initially fleeing to Pakistan his family returned to Kabul but soon Waheed travelled to the UK to escape further conflict and continue his education. Waheed studied for A Levels at evening classes and went on to study medicine at Cambridge University. He practised in London hospitals before moving to Liverpool’s Aintree University Hospital. During this time, Waheed returned to Afghanistan during his leave, helping medics care for patients injured in the ongoing conflict. Waheed’s achievements have been recognised with the Rotary International Peace Award (2018), UN Global Hero Award (2017), the Health Service Journal Highly Commended Rising Star Award (2016), and the Presidential Award from His Excellency Dr Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the President of Afghanistan, through his Minister Advisor on Health Matters.He received the UK Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award in 2018 for his inspirational charitable work, and the impact it had made in saving lives. Waheed was also appointed as a NHS Innovation Clinical Entrepreneur Fellow and Mentor in 2017. His autobiography In The Wars: A Story of Conflict, Survival and Saving Lives was published in 2021.

Episode 13: Bonnie Wright

Bonnie is a British actress, best known for her role of Ginny Weasley in all eight of the Harry Potter films. Bonnie has since stepped behind the camera-directing shorts, commercials and music videos, with projects having premiered at Cannes and Tribeca Film Festival. Bonnie is a leading climate activist serving as an ambassador for both Greenpeace and Rainforest Alliance.

Episode 14: Abi Morgan

Abi Morgan OBE is a double BAFTA and Emmy winning Welsh playwright and screenwriter known for her works for television, such as Sex Traffic, The Hour and legal drama The Split, as well as the films Brick Lane, Shame, Suffragette and The Iron Lady – which won Meryl Streep her third Oscar.

Episode 15: Michael Sheen

Known to millions as a vampire in The Twilight Saga films and a werewolf in the Underworld franchise, Michael's TV, film amd stage credits and award winning performances are extensive. Michael has starred in three films nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award: The Queen, Frost/Nixon and Midnight in Paris, as well as in filmes as diverse as The Damned United, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Tron: Legacy and the critically acclaimed adaptation of Far From the Madding Crowd. His many award-winning stage performances include Caligula and Frost/Nixon at the Donmar Theatre, and Hamlet at the Young Vic. He created, co-directed, and performed in the groundbreaking three-day live event The Passion in Port Talbot for National Theatre Wales. Television credits include Dirty Filthy Love, as Tony Blair in HBO's The Special Relationship and as Dr. Bill Masters in the acclaimed Showtime series, Masters of Sex, on which he was also a producer. In Amazon Prime’s Good Omens, based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's novel, he and David Tennant lead as the unlikely duo made of an angel and a demon. In February 2021, Michael opened ‘A Writing Chance’ with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and derived by New Writing North to support under-represented writers across the UK.

Episode 16: Matt Jones

Matt first took to the skies while in the RAF CCF section at Exeter school in Devon where he flew de Havilland Chipmunks. After completing a degree in civil engineering at Newcastle University and subsequently working for an investment bank in London he saw the light and made plans for a career in aviation. Matt's passion for historic aircraft meant he always wanted to fly the ultimate fighter, the iconic Spitfire, so when the opportunity presented itself he grabbed it, setting up The Spitfire Academy known as Spitfires.com. This organisation, the first to have worldwide approval to fly passengers in two seat Spitfires, is credited with creating The Spitfire Scholarship with Prince Harry, an initiative to teach injured ex-servicemen to learn to fly the Spitfire. They organised and delivered the largest flypast of Spitfires and Hurricanes since World War 2 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and in August 2019 set off to fly a Spitfire around the world, a feat not before attempted. Completed on 5 December, 2019 they reached 27 countries with the aircraft, setting a world record in the process.

Episode 17: David Dimbleby

David Dimbleby was chairman of the BBC's Question Time for 25 years. He has anchored election programmes and many other political programmes, and has been both a reporter for and presenter of Panorama. He is the commentator for a variety of State and other events. He has made film series for BBC television about the USA, South Africa, India and Zimbabwe as well as about the art, architecture and history of Britain.

Episode 18: Michael Franzese

The reformed Mafia boss once portrayed in Goodfellas was named among the most powerful people in America by Fortune Magazine and Vanity Fair in 1986, but today helps youth and vulnerable adults to avoid or leave a life within organised crime. He was a ‘Caporegime’ for the Colombo crime family, which was one of New York’s most notoriously violent and feared organised crime families during the 1970’s and 80’s. At the height of his career he was referred to as the biggest earner for the mob since Al Capone, and commanded a huge amount of power and respect. However following his prison sentence, Michael found God and publicly quit the mob to become a public speaker against crime and violence. Several contracts were issued on his life by the family he once served, which to this day haven’t been revoked. He is now a motivational speaker, youth empowerment activist and author.

An easy fun listen

Dermot’s chats are personal. Fun go with the flow and it’s a really easy listen whether you are on a long journey walking your dog or cooking it feels like you are sat with him & who he is having a chat with. Fingers crossed there will be more series
