  • #292 - One of Life's Winners (Peter Wickins, Gordon Topen, UK)
    Apr 10 2025

Saturday 19th of December 1992 at 2:20pm, behind a wooden hut at White City bus depot off Caxton Road in Shepherd's Bush, the body of 32-year-old successful Peter Wickins was found, he was naked except for a pair of socks and had been stabbed 19 times.

The Police assumed because he was a millionaire dressed in a tuxedo and that his Rolex watch was missing, that it must be a robbery gone wrong. But it led to a story which was much darker, as one of life’s winners... met one of life's losers.

  • #291 - The Scourge of Soho (Ernest Pink & Det Sgt Harold Challoner)
    Apr 3 2025

On Saturday 25th of May 1963 at 12:20am, four men were ejected from The Establishment Club on Greek Street in Soho. They left without a struggle, with no blood spilled, no damage done and nobody hurt. And yet, with accusations of corruption, violence and an attempted murder in its wake, it sparked a criminal trial and an inquiry which almost brought down the Metropolitan Police, courtesy of one of West End Central’s most corrupt officers – Detective Sergeant Harold ‘Tanky’ Challoner.

Love this Podcast

Very interesting and love the chatty style of narration! Laugh out loud with the random comments about noisy birds and passing policemen LOL

One of the best

This has to be one of the best podcasts out there - our host is extremely knowledgeable and has researched each story fully - some stories are well known but even then he lets us know more details - and then there’s the extra bits the boat, the coots and the cake, just fabulous

best British true crime podcast

Enjoy the way he tells the story. He remembers the victims and shows them as real people. He does his research and it shows.

Another excellent true crime podcast

Been listening to this podcast for ages and it’s brilliant, interesting and funny. So many crimes in such a small part of London. Well worth a listen and it’s free..have to put up with ads though..
