  • Summary

  • Cinema thrives on hysterical characters, especially when they inhabit closed environments such as convents or girls schools. But what can we make of the dozens of people who died during a dancing epidemic in medieval France?

Sexist and demeaning to women

Watch Unrest on Netflix and then listen this and I'm sure you'll agree that this podcast does nothing to challenge myths about hysteria, if anything it bolsters them. I lost interest in the first episode. Total bs.

Police in the 14th century ?

Obviously someone doesn't know their history. I quickly lost interest with that nugget of historical disinformation .

Alice Lowe is a national treasure

Really in response to the negative reviews here who I don’t think know who this woman is or what work she has done. Sexist she is not. Directed and starred in Prevenge - a horror about a murderous foetus - whilst she herself was extremely pregnant. Garth Marenghi’s dark place. Sightseers… she’s a legend.
