About this listen
Amazon.com and Wall Street Journal number one best-selling dark fantasy romance series from authors Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti—a Booktok sensation!
The stars called us.
The Veil closed at our backs.
And now death holds us in its clutches.
We were torn from life before our time, a Savage King, his queen, a betrayed son, a wronged brother, a scorned wife and so many more. We watch those we left behind as they struggle against the grip of the stars, the answers to so many of their questions within our grasp and yet out of their reach.
But what if we could find a way to answer their pleas? What if we could find a way to help them from this side of the divide? And what price would such a thing come at?
*This is a bridging book which takes place beyond The Veil (in the land of the dead) during the events of book 8 in the Zodiac Academy series. It should be listened to after book 8 to avoid spoilers for that book and holds the answer to what takes place for the characters who are held within the clutches of death by this point in the story, as well as vital clues to the conclusion of this epic series.

The Epilogue
Was good to meet those beyond the veil and to see what was happening and how they influenced things happening I'm the Real world. The ending has me more excited to read the next and final installment of this series!

Amazing audiobook that will leave you speechless!
Well I have just finished 8-5 and it has left me a bit speechless and not sure what to say. Just when you think the Twins luck is finally turning Fate comes along and practically lands a building of trouble on top of them. Tory and Darcy seriously can't catch a break and I fear for how the story will end. Will the Twins survive? Will the Heirs? What the over-seized iguana finally be kicked through the Harrowed Gate by a vengeful King or brother? So many questions and only the final book can give us our answers.
I always love listening to Jake and Bridget, the way they narrate and change their voices for the different characters putting their own unique spin on it and giving each character their own special voice that matches their personality perfectly. From the gruffiness of Darius' voice to the light sound of Catalina's they just suit the characters so much and give us more of an insight into what that character is going to be like.
Beyond the Veil follows the tumultuous events of Sorrow and Starlight and without giving away any spoilers the souls of the dead watch on whilst their loved ones fight for their lives, trying to aid them if they can. New perspectives are given on the events of ZA: 8 and it highlights the strength and power of loving someone beyond measure and what can be achieved in Solaria.
The scenes we got with Hail and Merissa have me wishing that in the end they could return to the world of the living to be with the Twins which I know is an impossibility but after reading this bridging novel I yearn for it with all my heart. Alas the cost would be far to great. The scenes with them were bittersweet the love they have for the twins tearing out my heart because the Twins will never fully understand. I loved the interactions between Hail and Darius and a certain scene they found themselves in towards the end had me howling with laughter. The awkward rating was cranked up to well over 100 but I have hope for a certain outcome to happen.
It is so hard to do this review without posting major spoilers so I will leave it here by saying that I can't wait for the final book but once again there is so much to wrap up, so much that has gone wrong that I wonder if one little book can honestly do that. This is not an encouragement to the authors in the slightest if they read my review! The end is drawing closer, the stars are watching, the deads are watching, holding their breaths, the Harrowed Gate looms ever nearer and the course of fate has changed but who has it changed in favour of? The Twins and their allies? Lame Lionel, his insane princess and his darkspawn? Or a fallen star who should never have defied the laws of destiny?

Wonderful story and excellent narration
This story was a great addition to the overall zodiac academy series, giving an alternative viewpoint that I welcomed. It is an interesting and comforting idea and our loved ones are watching and helping where they can in our lives from beyond the veil!
The narration from Jake and Bridget Bordeaux was excellent, they both brought the story to live and kept me engaged throughout. Their ability to switch between characters, changing tone, accents and emphasis adds something extra to the story honestly!

Amazing
What a trip beyond the veil. This was so good. Getting to see all of the other characters that we have only heard about in the previous books, especially Hail, Marissa and Azriel, was so good.
Even though I knew what was coming, I still cried at that one bit (iykyk). Now I will not so patiently wait for book 9 and prepare for my heart to be broken once again.
As always Jake and Bridget did a phenomenal job bringing the different characters to life and making the story that much more enjoyable.

The Bordeaux's really brings the book to life
I thought reading the book when it first came out was amazing, but hearing it really brought it to life. I've laughed and cried, and everything inbetween. Really worth it.

Amazing As Usual
I absolutely devour anything to do with this series and this book was no different. I have previously reviewed this audio title but it has disappeared, but I absolutely wanted to celebrate how good this truly is. Having this alternative POV of events narrated by the dream team is utter perfection.
