About this listen
In a story set during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, a couple’s marriage is tested by the strain of quarantine.
It’s summertime in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ian has lost his job, while his wife, Parker, thrives in her e-commerce career. Parker’s days are frenetic and full. When she’s not in Zoom meetings, she’s doom-scrolling about the virus or hanging out on Houseparty with her friends. Meanwhile, Ian claims to spend his days looking for a full-time job, but he’s mostly goofing around on Tik Tok and taking their dog, Hutch, for longer-than-necessary walks. What he really wants is to start a family, but Parker still isn’t ready. Now she’s saying she isn’t sure she’ll ever be ready. A rift grows between them, even as they’re quarantined together.
Then, Ian runs into their 23-year-old dogwalker, Frankie, who is also bored and out of work. Frankie doesn’t wear a mask, goes to outdoor bars, and lives with a roommate. Around her, Ian’s vigilance slips, and at the first hint that Frankie is flirting with him, he sidelines Parker’s strict safety protocols. One thing leads to another, Ian’s choices tumbling like a line of dominoes, until more than just his marriage’s survival is on the line....

Good quick story
Don’t expect good people, though. It felt a bit too real, tbh, and that’s what I really didn’t enjoy.

Thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you audible
This was such a great story but so short but it was enjoyable from start to finish. Narration was suited well to it and I didn’t get distracted whilst listening. Will watch out for any more titles by this author. A well deserving 5 stars all round.

Enjoyable
I like most literature about the covid 19 pandemic as it shows different perspectives and realities during that time.
This was a brilliant short story showcasing the breakdown of relationships during this period and the reliance on social media in todays day and age.

good short story
during the isolation of the pandemic, a couple’s commitment gets tested, as one is bored, in need of a distraction, tempted to look elsewhere and not at his partner. the title also hints at the true compatibility of the couple, the colours being considered kinda complimentary, but not quite (yellow fits with purple, while green fits with red, here also, the woman cares about wearing a mask and safety, represented by the colour green, while the man is a coward, the represented by the colour yellow, running away and making the family sick).
good short story, good performance.
i really like these audible short stories, they allow you to quickly sample various authors and various styles, while also bringing awareness to new, potentially less known, authors faster...and, because of the length, some can fit nicely on a break or a commute. any author can shine fast with a well written short story.
