Summary

The David Gemmell Award-shortlisted author of Age of Iron returns with the final book in his West of West trilogy, in which a mismatched group of refugees must battle monsters, an unforgiving land and each other as they cross a continent to fulfil a prophecy.

Battling across the Shining Mountains, the questers discover a land more terrifying and filled with more dangerous creatures than they could ever have imagined - and they've fought thunder lizards. The tentatively allied Wootah and Calnians must survive monster attacks, flash floods and tornadoes to uncover the secret of The Meadows. And then comes the hard part. To save themselves and everybody else they will travel west of west, deeper into danger, and do all that they can to defeat a goddess who has already killed all the other gods.

Brilliant.

Great story, engaging characters and unrelenting action. David Gemmell meets Terry Pratchet with a bit of Billy Connoly thrown in.

Really very very good

I’ve read everything Angus Watson has written. In this the Last book in the series he certainly doesn’t disappoint. Sean Barrett as the narrator is as always absolutely amazing and brings all the characters to life my only concern is having to wait for the next book for Angus write.

superb

the depth of drama comedy & research is astounding. I dare anybody not to enjoy this or any of this author's work. Coupled magnificently with the narrator Sean Barret, who let's face it.. always delivers..it makes an epic listen every time.

Wootah! Slow start, rushed ending

Read age of iron and was surprised by how different this book was. Took me half of book 1 to decide to carry on. Fabulous narration. Just bit disappointed that after all their struggles the final confrontation was over quickly and very little conversation with Warlock Queen to explain her actions etc. all seemed rushed and packed into the final few pages which was a shame. But overall i did enjoy it even with some of the childishness Wootah!
