Summary
We cannot give what we do not have. So, if we do not love ourselves, or even if we are too obsessed with ourselves, how then can we love others?
What Makes Us Girls examines the topic of self-worth through a modern cultural lens. Using examples from the author's life experience and the life experiences of a variety of other girls, What Makes Us Girls analyzes seven of the most common issues that result in a destructive sense of self-worth: comparison, rejection, bullying, inauthenticity, purposelessness, betrayal, and guilt.
Every girl in the world, no matter our age or the country we are from, will have to face a battle for self-worth. Some of us will win, and some of us will lose. But those of us who win will do so for two reasons: We are able to see the battle for what it is and, even more importantly, we have the right weapons to fight it.

Thank you for this book
I liked Brittany's honesty and vulnerability in this book. I saw myself reflected in many of the stories, and it's good to see that you are not the only one who has had the experiences she talks about.
I also think that her sister is a very good narrator, her voice is very sweet and her narrating style is engaging.
I overall enjoyed reading this. The ideas are very simple and they are not super original but they are good, and I found her stories about her life the most useful part of the book.

Pleasantly Surprised
I read some of the reviews and almost didn't purchase this book. I am happy that I did. It's a very honest book that has some really useful stuff that's especially relevant to the Instagram/YouTube obsessed generation of today. I enjoyed it!

Female psychology from a first-hand perspective
I think there is a good balance between stories and the more philosophical discussion.
As a man I am not the target audience for this book, but still found it very interesting.
Nicole does a good job of the narration. I had to modify my sound equalizer slightly, but after that it was easy to listen to her voice.
I would recommend this book, because it gives some good advice, which I think there is a hunger for, in our modern society.
