Summary
Even among the Celtic nations with their noble tradition of bards and story-tellers, the Welsh stand out for the sheer weight and number of their stories. Drawn from many sources including the great book of 'The Mabinogion1, traditional Celtic mythology, and local folklore this collection of tales has been adapted by popular children's author Faye Saxeby and brought to life in an enchantingly warm reading by the lovely Welsh actress Angharad Rees. The Enchanted Land; the Golden Ball; The Three Curses; Before the Sea was Salty; The Fairy Child; The Faithful Hound; The Magic Crook.

For Children on Long Journey's
Enjoyable Welsh Fairy Tales, which are perfect for long journeys.
Read by The lovely voiced, the late Angharad Rees whom many know as 'Griselda' from the 1970's Poldark TV series.
A good selection of stories we have not heard before, a nice introduction to Welsh writing for the whole family.

Thoroughly enjoyable
What did you like most about Welsh Fairy Tales?
I liked everything about this audio book - the narration, the pace, the stories, and even the music in between the stories.
What did you like best about this story?
I really couldn't say that anything was 'best' about it, as it was all just great.
What does Angharad Rees bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Angharad Rees brings a light touch and a light Welsh accent to the stories that really makes them come alive.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have listened to this book all in one sitting if I hadn't been interrupted part-way through. But I did listen in two sittings!
Any additional comments?
This is a beautifully put-together collection of stories, some of which I hadn't heard of before, though I have studied some of the old Welsh tales. I thoroughly loved it. Thank you, Audible, for making it available here!
