About this listen
From internationally renowned intuitive counselor, life coach, motivational speaker, and author Colette Baron-Reid, a four-step, eight-week program for managing empathy overload - the hidden cause of unwanted weight gain.
Through her own personal experience and work with thousands of clients, Colette Baron-Reid understands the real reason many of us struggle to lose weight and keep it off. It isn't that we don't know what to eat or that we don't have enough willpower; it's that we are responding to feeling too much.
Weight Loss for People Who Feel Too Much focuses on the keys to weight loss for sensitive people: managing empathy, setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, eating to support well-being, and dealing with challenging situations that can trigger disordered eating. With a simple, practical program, Colette shows you how to release the extra pounds and create a new, healthy relationship with your body, your weight, and food.

Wish I’d found it years ago!
Well, what can I say? I honestly and truly feel as though this book has the potential to change my life. I’ve listened all the way through in audible, and now I have ordered a hard copy of the book because I intend to complete the full course. I have my notebooks ready, I am just waiting for a hardback copy to arrive on my doorstep and then I am good to go! I do think that if you want to fully embrace this program you need a hard copy, as there are a lot of questionnaires, and instructions to follow. That said, if you are used to listening to audiobooks that are kind of self-help guides then you might not feel you need to buy yourself a hard copy. That’s probably just me!

A beautiful narrative to listen to
I must say I loved this book - I have listened to it twice now. But I also invested in a hard copy. I love the gentleness of the narrative and the honesty of the dialogue.
As someone who is an empath and someone who has had binge eating disorder since asolescence as a way to cope with the overwhelming emotions I had to deal with. I finally felt acknowledged.
As a therapist, I found it had a wonderful integrative approach to the weight loss. It's more about the focus on the positive (NLP), looking at your personal narrative (depth work) and seeing how your thoughts affect your feelings that affect your behavious (CBT). So it made sense. It also blends elements of 12 step programmes, but all in all it is a wholesome positive experience.
I am currently working through the exercises and find them helpful; especially allowing myself time in the bathroom to focus on myself rather than run down my itinerary for the next couple of days.
Thank you Colette, it's beauitful <3
