Back to Cedarwood Beach with Rhys Everly.
This book features Andy, a 43 years old, straight widower, struggling to keep his bar open and completely lost after his late wife death. When his older son's best friend goes to work for him, he not only saves his business, but he turns Andy's life completely upside down. Their mutual attraction is too strong to ignore, but they both fear Andy's son reaction so they start a secret relationship...
The book is funny and romantic, and steamy, too! Andy is a grumpy bear, but underneath is just a big softie, and Kyle is such a ray of sunshine, but also a capable businessman for his age.
Also, there are so many men in Cedarwood Beach who still need to find their HEA, I can't wait for more...

Secret relationship
I enjoyed this book more than the first. This series seems to have a running theme where the one "grumpy" MC is more like a total AH to everyone, in this case including his kids and I am not a fan of that. Otherwise I would have rated this 5 stars.
Once again I stayed for the other MC who was adorable. Some of his actions I could understand Andy getting mad at. He did leap before he thought but it kept things interesting and with Andy being so difficult I couldn't blame him.
I enjoyed the story from start to finish. The 2 MCs had good chemistry when they were alone and were a good balance for each other. I did find it to be insta lust and insta love. A bit more relationship development would have been nice. I would say it's medium steam and medium angst. Once again the ending was super sweet.
I love this little world and the side characters the author created so I am still eager to continue this series.
I'm glad the series switched narrators. I'm a big fan of Zachary Zabas. He has a very pleasant reading voice and flow. He expressed the emotions wonderfully and brought the story to life. He gave all the characters including the side characters their own distinct voice that suited each of them perfectly and made it very easy to follow the story.

Age gap
This is the second in the series. I had trouble with this. The connection and acting on that connection between Kyle and Andy was too sudden. Andy too easily fell into the whole relationship.
The connection and angst getting these was good. The relationship between Kyle and Nathan was fun.
The narration of Andy didn’t work for me. The voice just didn’t fit the character in my head. The rest of the narration was great.

A great age gap story!
Story: A witty, funny, charming and sweet age gap story with a best friend’s Dad trope for good measure.
I loved the MCs’ creations in this book! They both had a lot going for them and their personalities were fascinating!
Narration: Great performance that enhanced the book and all the feels. Loved it!
