About this listen
Growing up in a coven with only one other shifter around doesn’t allow Arik much of an opportunity to find his mate, and he doesn’t know when or where he’ll find him. When dreams about his mate start interrupting his sleep, he’s content to wait for them to find each other. That is, until he dreams that his mate is in danger.
Alpha War has all but given up on ever finding his true mate. He’s looked for centuries, but so far, no luck. Then when his den starts being attacked by the local coven, all thoughts of finding his mate leave his mind. He only wants to protect his den members like any alpha would.
When an altercation with the coven turns deadly, the last thing War expects is for his mate to appear out of thin air, literally. Arik knew his mate was in trouble, so he got his twin to teleport the two of them to the place he’d been dreaming about.
War is happy to have found his mate, but can he accept a union with another coven? He already has enough witch problems; will a coven of warlocks be any different? But can he really say no to his fated mate? Is Arik willing to leave his peaceful coven for a den full of chaos?
With problems lurking, babies coming, and warlocks “poofing” in and out at odd times, will War and Arik ever find time alone for sexy times?
War’s Mate book one in the Honey Creek Den Series. Each book contains a fated mate pair, mpreg, lots and lots of knotting during "growly" sexy times, babies, no cheating, and a HEA.
These bears will do anything their mates ask, just listen and see. The Honey Creek Den Series is meant to be enjoyed in order even though each audiobook focuses on a different couple. This audiobook is intended for adults only as these shifters tend to get "growly" and don’t watch their language.

Good
Kenneth Obi 5*
The book started well enough but quickly went downhill with an alpha who didn't want his mate and then changed his mind.
War mated Arik and after 5 times that night he had his heat and became pregnant with twins immediately.
It's a shame he didn't respect his mate and was of the belief that Arik should stay at home and look after their cubs even though he's a qualified doctor!
The danger facing the coven and nearby wolf pack could and should have been dealt with immediately given Arik's father is Edison but it appears that it's going to be dragged out as it's unresolved at the end but the mated pair will carry on as they've started, which is to have sex every couple of pages and no semblance of a regular life since it occurs whether they are eating, War is at work at the police station, as he drives to/from work...

OK
There were some things I liked and some I didn't but it is perfectly easy to listen to, good narration, although I was a bit put out by the stereotyping of a female sounding voice on the male omega character and a particular deep voice on the male alpha.
Mostly I enjoyed the book, the genre and the plot was ok. My reservations are about it sounding like a stereotypical m/f relationship and the uncomfortable sex scenes. Will still read/get the next one in series.

ended abruptly
Opening chapter suggested MM shifter romance with some mild peril.
Author concentrated on the romance and it seems to me, paid little attention the danger from the aggressors.
Was not convinced by Kenneth Obi's Alpha Voice.

Lovely Shifter romance
I really enjoyed this book Warren (War, Alpha and Mate) and Eric were mates even with the huge age gap they hit it off. can't wait to continue the journey of the pack finding their mates. Kenneth did a great job with narration

Enjoyed
I enjoyed the book and the performance definitely helped make the book an enjoyable story. My only criticism was I felt the story was rushed a little bit more meat on the story and it would have been amazing. I am currently listening to the second one and looking forward to the series growing

Bears and tigers...
Arik feels his mate is in trouble. The thing is he doesn’t know where he is. With the help of his brother Arik finds War and helps him out. The world built is interesting, witches making trouble, bears finding their mates, warlocks, tigers, bears and wolves. Great combination for a shifter romance. The narrator tells the story with an awesome voice.

Weak story
Kenneth Obi does a fantastic job narrating- as always!
The story starts out promising however the plot becomes weaker and weaker throughout and unfortunately it makes for a boring listen in the end. It seemed like a repetition in the end - let’s knot, go for a run and have the warlocks “poof” up when needed. It’s really a shame because I really like the characters!
