About this listen
Every wrongdoing warrants a consequence. In my case, I've decided to settle the score with death. Especially when what brought this on, what stirred up my crazy, was the vicious attack on an innocent young girl. Worse, one that ended in her death. For years, I've been plotting to take out the men I used to call my brothers. The men who double-crossed me by brutally murdering my sister.
I want revenge. I need it. Crave it. It's in my blood. I plan to stop at nothing. No matter, if I inflict pain on another woman. After all, it was her brother who killed my sister. I figure, why not make him suffer the same way I have.
One tiny glimpse of her changes everything.
Or does it?
Maybe, just maybe, the little siren I wanted to harm is going to single-handedly slaughter me instead.
Lies.
Deceit.
Manipulation.
Gotta love a tangled web of warranted deception.

Raw and Unapologetic
Audiobook review. This story packs a punch. It isn’t for the faint of heart. It has grit and is raw. It’s unapologetic and unforgiving. Chaz is a hero that is tough as they come but who is open about his vulnerability and beliefs. Jillian is a woman betrayed by many yet not jaded or soured by her very tragic life.
These two characters deserved a little bit of light in their dark world. They deserved joy and love amongst the misery and death. I’m glad they allowed for that to be possible when they could’ve easily let their past dictate their actions.
The plot was deep, dark, and it crossed into what is an unfortunate reality for many women around the world. The writing and prose were done well. The pacing was a bit off. In some aspects it lingered and lost effectiveness. In others, like the long-awaited resolution to the major conflict, it went by too fast. I liked that it included an epilogue. I am definitely interested in reading more about this crew though I will advise that the scenes can be graphic and contain rape and abuse.
The narrator, Sarah Puckett, did a good job transitioning between the male and female POV. The female POV was naturally the stronger of the two. I listen on the higher speeds and I was still able to listen clearly at 1.75 speed. Tone and pitch were on point.

Good story but too much inner dialogue
This was good, but I found myself drifting away from the story because there was too much inner dialogue. The premis of the story was good but personally I didn't feel the chemistry between Jillian and Chaz, and I think that was because of the aformentioned lack of dialogue between them. I also found the story difficult to follow occasionally, particularly at the beginning when it was focused on the past, but I still appreciate it was well written. Sarah Puckett did a good job of the narration and had an authentic male voice which worked well, something I wasn't sure was going to work at first.

So much heartach!
This story has so much heartache in it, you can't help but just cry for the characters. They go through so much torment and horrific things, I don't know how they can possibly go on. He is a good guy at heart on a murderous rampage, saving the world from evil, avenging his sisters death. She is an innocent woman, the sister of his enemy, and tormented by her brother. They share a bond that is beautiful and may heal their broken hearts, if it is possible, and if they can wipe out their enemy. Their chemistry is off the charts and extremely hot, as well!
Sara Puckett is an exceptional narrator!

Raw and gripping
Kathy Coopman did a fantastic job in her writing, Sarah Puckett did an equally fantastic job in telling this dark, deeply emotional, nail bitting, at the edge of your seat story of sex trafficking, corruption, revenge, a screwed up sibling rivalry and a sweet romance. Highly recommend, but not for the squeamish.

Dark & Twisted with HEA
Is it horrible that I love these types of books?
Chaz is a killer. But he’s the type you can love and not feel guilty about it. I love that he can be cold and heartless but when it comes to the ones he loves he’s gentle. I really loved Jillian. Even though she’s had a rough life she’s still very independent and is fierce. I liked how she wasn’t afraid to stand up to the people who she should fear the most.
And of course there’s the narrator, Sarah Puckett. Once again she did an amazing job!

a good listen
I enjoyed this, however you really have to pay attention to who's chapter is whos otherwise like me you'll end up really confused until you realise lol
it was a good story line and kept me hooked its just one you really need to focus on
the narration was great but I think the way the book is read it could have been better using a Male narrator aswell , not to say Sarah Puckett didn't do a great job because she did but I think it would have made it a bit easier to follow
all in all tho it's a really interesting story and I'm looking forward to reading/listening to the others in the series.

OMG!!
Kathy Coopmans is so very good at what she does!!! This book is no exception! With this dark storyline, it could have been difficult to read.. but it wasn’t! She wrote this with such skill and smoothness, that it made me root for what was going to happen! I have never been disappointed with a book written by Kathy Coopmans. You won’t be either. Heed the warnings.
Sarah Puckett... she’s awesome!! I love listening to her voice and the grit and growl in her voice was perfect for this story!!!

Loved it.
I really liked the story, and how the characters dealt with the difficult and horrifying situations they were in.
I did, however, skip over some of the sex scenes towards the end.

It took me a little while to get into this book but it does have a good story; you can't wait to see what it is going to happen next. Broken people who love each other; good read and romance.

An emotionally intense and powerful story
Kathy Cooomans blew me away with this book! It grabbed hold of me and took me for a wild ride of emotions. Love, hate, sensuality, sexuality, vengeance...... It was all there wrapped up in a story that kept you enraptured from beginning to end! I need more of this series and more of this author.
Sarah Puckett's performance was, as usual, amazing. I love her work and know anything she does will be fantastic!
