About this listen

Curse the Day: The only magic Emma Hart believes in is caffeine and the power of the dryer to lose one sock per load. A chance encounter lands her in Spellbound, a town where supernaturals have been cursed to remain for centuries - probably not the best time for Emma to discover that she's actually a witch. Between the recent murder of the town's public defender, a goblin accused of theft, remedial witch classes, and the attention of one smoking hot vampire, Emma struggles to navigate this unfamiliar terrain without losing her mind...or her life.

Doom and Broom: Emma Hart hasn't had a moment's peace since her arrival in Spellbound. When a werewolf is found dead and Daniel is named as the prime suspect, Emma takes the initiative to prove that the angel's halo is firmly intact. The heat is on as Emma struggles to get a grip on her broomstick and identify the killer before it's too late.

Spell's Bells: When a sleeping dwarf is found entombed in a glass coffin and remedial witch Sophie is blamed, Emma Hart must defend her friend while trying to get to the bottom of the enchantment. The investigation lands Emma smack dab in the middle of Spellbound's dating scene. Emma knows it's time to kick her witchy skills up a notch if she expects to survive Thursday night speed dating and keep sweet Sophie from a life in paranormal prison.

Fun stories (3). Light hearted and great for my mini break. I will be looking out for more by Annabel Chase.

ok listen

this book is ok, not the best story or characters I've read recently but for these 3 books to be in the plus catalogue it's worth a listen.

it took me a while to get used to the narrators nasaly voice, it honestly sounded like she was holding her nose at first lol, but I had just come from a narrator with a strong tenant accent , so I always like to give new narrators to me time to get used to, rather than making snap decisions.

I have listened to hundreds of audio books by now, and have heard a lot of miss pronounced words, but this one seemed to have a problem with the word focus, saying fucus or fucusing instead lol, which I've never heard before

there were also a few repeated sentences, so the editing wasn't very thorough which puts me off spending credits for the rest of the series, it just didn't engage me enough to want to continue after this set I'm afraid to say

Great box set

Really enjoyed these books. Cosy witch mystery books, following the life story of one witch through the three books.

Quirky. Holds interest

Easy to listen to. Imaginative. Wide range of characters and fairly gentle storylines. Perfect for bedtime.

The narrator talks through her nose

This could have been a cute story I’m sure, but I couldn’t keep listening to it as the narrator’s voice is so nasally. Somehow she manages to say every word through her nose. It’s way too annoying. Unfortunately as I wanted to hear the actual story. I’m sad.

I couldn't decode what was more annoying, the writing or the narrating..

OK, if you want something light hearted and a little silly (and free) great. Other than that, I'm finding it hard to get through. I find myself rolling my eyes at something at least 3 times a chapter, but hey it didn't cost me anything.. I'd be very disappointed if I'd spent a credit on this. The narration is painful, the voices are awful, and I keep hoping half the characters will get eaten by other characters, just so I don't have to hear their 'voice' again. Narrator has a weird way of nasally trailing off her sentences. And as someone else has said, it's very badly edited, sentences get repeated out of the blue like nobody bothered to listen back (maybe they couldn't get through it either)
