Summary
Juliet's been in hiding. From her family, from her life, but most of all from the fact that Ben's not around anymore. Her mother, Diane, has run out of advice. But then she insists Juliet look after her elderly Labrador, and it becomes apparent that Coco the dog might actually be the one who can rescue her daughter. Especially when it leads to her walking dogs for a few other locals, too, including a spaniel, Damson, who belongs to a very attractive man....
Before she knows it, Juliet realises she has somehow become the town's unofficial pet sitter. A job which makes her privy to the lives and secrets of everyone whose animals she's caring for. But as her first winter alone approaches, she finally begins to wonder if it's time to face up to her own secrets. To start rebuilding her own life. And maybe - just maybe - to fall in love again.

Easy escapism, lovely.
Lovely easy read, kept me entertained for hours. Lovely characters, sad but hopeful storyline. Now to find another gem.

OK eventually but so slow. Insightful
Good insights into how we all see things from differing points of view. Rather tasteless debasing of the 2 older women, making 1 out to be whiney & selfish when she’s lost her only son for goodness sake, & the other to be a bit neurotic when all she was guilty of was selfless love for her daughter. Over all pretty good in highlighting how we all make decisions & act in ways that aren’t meant to hurt others but are a desperate grab for happiness & a sense of meaning in life. Can’t stand the Brummy accents, but the narrator was good.

Another brilliant trip to longhampton!
For fans of Lucy Dillon & of life in Longhampton this is a brilliant book. The inclusion of a couple of familiar faces albeit fleeting makes the story all the more cohesive. Highly recommended.

Walking back to Happiness
It is probably me rather than the book and apologies to the author but I like happy and uplifting books. The story content was so heart breaking. Found the narrator hard to listen too as well.

Enjoyable
Another good read from Lucy Dillon. I found it a little slow to get going, but otherwise I would recommend it.
Another good performance by Lucy Price-Lewis.

Walking My way back to happiness
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Whilst I did not suffer the same calamities Julliete, the heroine in this story, the well meaning antics of her mother and friends and the situations she found herself in resonated with me. I walked my way back to happiness with my dogs listening to four of Lucy Dillon's books. Lucy Price-Lewis has a lovely reading voice, one which is a pleasure to listen to, and I found myself walking further and further, listening to the story unfold with great enjoyment.
What did you like best about this story?
Whilst it is a romantic story, the path was not straighforward or predictable, something I find important after reading sooo many romances. Lucy Dillon weaves several stories together in a believable and absorbing way. Lucy Price-Lewis gives subtle but differenty defined 'voices' to the characters. As a dog owner, I loved the way Dillon wove in various dogs and their foilbles in to the story.
Have you listened to any of Lucy Price-Lewis’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I have loved all the novels I have listened to so far and would recommend them all. However, I do have a sneaky preference for the first one I heard, the Secret of Happy Ever After, but it is really only because it was the first one I listened to.

Enjoyed the story and...
This is a nice story that addresses grief, loss, family and more...I really enjoyed this part of the audiobook!
I did read a review prior to purchasing which said the performance was awful due to the accents. I wouldn’t go this far. Yes, at times I found the lead character’s Black Country accent a bit hit and miss but the performer never really attempts an Irish accent so you can’t say it was bad!
It’s an enjoyable book!

Finished suddenly, left me handing
The story was lovely and it was rather dramatic at the end and then Bang it finished rather suddenly leaving me feeling cheated. Not even a prologue to tie up loose ends...
