Summary

Harmon Waite has been tricked by the devil and fed to a dragon - twice!

The first time, he got away by putting out the dragon’s left eye with his living sword Yeshu’a. The second time, Harmon Waite is up against a planet-wide sandstorm, a lost civilization deep underground, acid-spitting white worms, and of course, a big, bad one-eyed, majorly pissed-off dragon.

That’s just the first half of his hero’s journey. Before it’s over, Harmon will have to survive even more impossible odds - a face-off with Satan himself.

Waite on the Ripper was an intense roller-coaster ride, Waite on the Blind Angel, a dizzying cat-and-mouse merry-go-round chase, and Waite on the Hero’s Journey is an out-of-this-world parachute jump - without the chute.

It’s part of an escalating series of adventures that lead Harmon Waite inevitably into the Celestial Wars. The soul-blessed worlds will never be the same.

Fantastic continuation of Waite's adventures!

The continuation of Harman Waite’s adventures in Celestial Wars 3 doesn’t disappoint and continues smoothly from the cliff hanger ending of book 2.

I know I am repeating myself from the previous reviews, but as before the characters and world building are brilliant and the story is suspenseful and takes surprising turns.

Our main heroes are back and amazing, I refer to my reviews on the previous books for more details, but one thing I have to say – she is BACK, Molly the only fully human team member has got her spunk back!
I sort of identify with her and didn’t really like how passive she was in book 2.

I can’t really say much about the happenings in this story, as it would contain too many spoilers for this and for Waite on the Blind Angel. So I’ll just say there is plenty of action with guns and swords, lots of portal jumping, new and old fantastic creatures and worlds, including – sorry, I have to say it – a dragon – and I love him!

Ooh, and there is a hint of romance creeping in and I do love a sprinkling of romance amidst the action.

This story could be read as standalone, but because of the way the story moves seamlessly on from book 2 you should really read the previous book(s).

Dan Johnson is back at the microphone and I repeat myself from previous reviews: “I love listening to his deep, resonant voice, which I slowed down a little bit, to get the perfect nonchalant ‘detective noir’ feel!”

I have book 4 Waite on the Angel of Death ready and waiting for me! Yay!

I received this book in audio book format from the author and am leaving this review of my own volition.
