About this listen
From New York Times best-selling author Samantha Towle comes a new sexy, romantic suspense standalone novel....
Daisy Smith has spent 18 months of her life paying for a crime she didn't commit. Now out of prison, she has only one focus - to get back custody of her younger brother, Jesse, who is deep in the foster care system. Desperate to rebuild her life and show the system that she is responsible enough to care for Jesse, she takes on the only job available to her - working as a maid at the Matis Estate.
On day one of her new job, Daisy meets Kastor Matis, the only son of the owners and her new boss. An enigmatic, handsome Greek god of a man, Kas is closed off, cold, and...well, kind of a bastard.
The more time Daisy spends around Kas, she starts to see there might be more to him than just his cold, bastard ways. He may actually have a heart beating in that frozen chest of his.
But Kas has secrets, too. Secrets that he's determined to keep.
Secrets make Daisy curious.
And you know what curiosity can do....

Good story but needs male/female narrator
I enjoyed the story but I did not enjoy the male character voices definitely needs an additional male narrator for the male characters.

Gripping
Couldn’t stop listening and now it’s finished I wished I’d still some to go but I just couldn’t stop. What a twist, not what I expected at all. I love to pit my wit against the authors, but I didn’t guess this one and I loved it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to buy this one but very glad I did so if you can’t make your mind up I’d definitely recommend you get it.

Nice read
I enjoyed this read/story and the character progression throughout. I think it’s definitely worth the read. I enjoy Samantha’s writing and will read more of her books. I think Victoria did a great job Narrating Daisy and even Kas. However, I believe Kas character would have been better narrated by a man to really connect. Would recommend :)

3.5 stars
Overall this was a good 'read'. I enjoyed that a number of wrongs were made right over the course of the book.
I did however find the character voice of Kas to be a bit contrived.

Ok…
The narration was inconsistent, worse than a bad accent imo, story was ok nice light read, a bit predictable boring ending.

UNEXPECTED PLOT. I LOVED THE BRITISH DIALOGUE TOO
Not what I expected at all, which was a kind of office romance, I was so wrong and was hooked from start to finish.
Daisy May Smith also know as Mayday by her friend.
A fellon, a victim of a wrongful arrest for a Robbery she didn't commit, set up by her boyfriend and her only crime loving the wrong guy.
Kaster Matis, also known as Kas..
A mystery, the owner of an estate, a broody guy who comes across as Lord of the manor and is rightly nicknamed by Daisy as Kashole.
When Daisy first gets out if prison her sole purpose is to get her brother back who was put into care when she was sent to prison.
Following her release Daisy is offered a job from the probation service as a maid on a private estate which is when she is introduced to Kaster Matis.
Daisy is no pushover and despite her position refuses to let Kashole's Moody ways and icy stares drag her down.
Kas and Daisys relationship is a gradual build with neither if them letting people in easily.
The chemistry is hot and the suspense, mystery, twists, and turns surrounding Kas, his past, his present, his secrets, keep you eagerly anticipating the truth to unfold and you are kept guessing while at the same time rooting for Daisy to finally have things go her way.
A plot with mystery, suspense, danger and revenge.
I loved the British dialogue, the characters and the plot was brilliant.
I listened on audio with brilliant narration that brought the characters to life.
Told in first person dual pov, leads to hea.

not bad but not great
the story and characters are well written however a bit long winded and definitely needs 2 narrators as the female to famine for male character

Too much unnecessary swearing
Narrator was good, unfortunately the book was average. Way too much unnecessary swearing which I found distracting and annoying. Not much else to say it really was that average.
