Special Agent Will Trent has something to hide. Something he doesn’t want Dr Sara Linton – the woman he loves – to find out. He’s gone undercover in Macon, Georgia and put his life at risk. And he knows Sara will never forgive him if she discovers the truth.

But when a young Macon patrolman is shot and left for dead Sara is forced to confront the past and a woman she hoped never to see again. And without even knowing it, she becomes involved in the same case Will is working on. Soon both of their lives are in danger.

Critic reviews

"Tightly plotted with believable characters, this brims with menace." ( Sunday Mirror)
"Slaughter’s 13th novel, Unseen has all the required pieces to keep her on the bestseller lists. Slaughter gets the heady mix of forensic attention to detail & fast-paced action just right" ( Press Association review syndicated to all the regional papers)

Spoiled by the awful naration

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Struggle to concentrate with a southern accented female especially when she putting on a deep male voice. Normally really like to read the books but cant face anymore of this.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Really couldn't say

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Accent is so heavy and awful when she reads male parts.

Was Unseen worth the listening time?

no

Any additional comments?

Has put me off listening to more audio books.

Shame about the change of narrator

Listened to all the previous books from both crossover series in order and thoroughly enjoyed them, they’ve been very easy listening. very disappointed with the change in narrator for this one, can’t understand why they’ve done this, doesn’t even seem like I’m listening to the same series of characters and kind of struggling to follow along, putting on a silly accent to differentiate the characters but then they all sound quite the same , it’s awful, with the previous narrator I realise now I didn’t have to even think to figure out which character was speaking, whereas with this one I’m having to listen specifically for minor accent changes and ‘Amanda said, faith said’ etc. it’s hard work

Nail biting

What a sitting on the edge of your seat edition. A great listen. This one sees Lena back although tragedy hits her I find I don’t quite feel as sorry for her as I did last time.

Karin did it again

If you could sum up Unseen in three words, what would they be?

Addictive, hard hitting, passionate!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Unseen?

I won't say I think it will spoil the book....

Which character – as performed by Penelope Rawlins – was your favourite?

Will, I loved his vulnerability....

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes definitely but I had to listen to it on the way to and from work. I was having terrible withdrawal symptoms i so listened to it at home at well just to see what happened next!

Any additional comments?

Loved this installment of the developing relationship between Will and Sarah can't wait for the next book in this series.

Narration was so grating I couldn’t finish

The narrator was terrible with voices and accents. Unfortunately there are lots of side characters in the book; some of them were given low and breathless voices and others high-pitched and silly. Will’s voice made him sound older than he should be. And the southern accents were all over the place.

The story wasn’t told in a straight forward timeline. The shifting in time was some times confusing.

Narration terrible

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Loved the story but had to listen through gritted teeth. Male voices so poor. So my advice is read it. Or find another version

Would you be willing to try another one of Penelope Rawlins’s performances?

No
