About this listen
This is not a love story. Unconditional is a story about love. When Chris and his father Phil decide to spend a long weekend break in Bilbao, their relationship is stretched to the limit. All because of a woman. Chris learns the hard way how actions have consequences. Phil also learns that it takes unexpected blows to put love to the test.
"Believe me son, I do love you," Phil said to Chris once, "that’s why you still breathe."
Killing your offspring - as justified as it may sometimes seem - is simply not an option.

A funny and poignant coming of age story
I really enjoyed this audiobook by Ant Richards. The production values and voices were all very professional and really helped to draw you into what is a lovely and unexpectedly emotional story. I especially enjoyed the characters of the dad and the bar owner, Michael.
I’d definitely recommend it. Just remember to keep a box of tissues close by.

You never know what you've got until it's gone
As a man in my mid 20s, I very much related to this story...for all the wrong reasons! I felt at times I was listening to my own life as a snotty, hormonal, smartass teenager.
Unconditional is a beautiful story, well written, and in this case, well delivered by the narrators - having both male (narrator and male characters) as well as female narrators(female charaters, of course) adds that credible aspect to this audiobook.
Besides the dialogues, I really enjoyed the way Richards describes not only the situations, but also the locations this story takes place; I almost felt I was walking alongside the characters through the streets of Bilbao, as Chris stumbles from one problem into another. The end is a masteful twist I did not expect.
This is the 2nd audiobook read by AR that i've listened to, and I am becoming a bit of a fan of this author. I look forward to listening (and reading) more of Ant Richards' work. Pinero and Olarte also do a very stellar job in this audiobook.

Bilboa
A tale of youth vs parent. A story well spun, full of all the horrors that as a parent I fully appreciate. The story is well presented, I felt transported to the city, the heat and the exhilaration of new experiences. Would I recommend it, yes I will. I hope that the you will enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you Mr Richards

Sobering
A lovely, heartening story about coming of age. I read the kindle version when it came out a few months ago, and loved it. Richards' narration delivered all the different nuances of the male characters almost to perfection - he did write it after all.
Like the written version, he also managed to draw a few tears from me. The female narrators also delivered well.
A must listen for both parents and kids (especially sons).

Ant Richards smashed it once again!!
I simply loved it. I read the book and listened to the audible version. It is written and narrated in Ant's own original style with a very moving and unexpected twist. You wouldn't want to miss it.

Fathers and Sons
This short story by Ant Richards and read by the author himself has been my companion whilst travelling this week. It’s a story about the relationship between parent and child and as well as young love when you fall in love for the first time. Having elderly parents you reminisce about what your relationship could’ve been and what it actually was like. This book build on that portion of any life.
Ant’s dulcet tones narrate this story perfectly and I would actually go as far as his voice reminds me of David Bedella or Tim Curry. Would I recommend? Certainly as it’s a very enjoyable book.

Nota love story. This is a story about love
A beautifully well-written story, that resonates strongly. As a daughter and [now] mother, it's not hard to relate to the plot.
The narrative makes it so easy to hate & love Chris in equal measure; his petulant teenage antics blends humourously with his naivety. Swelled-up eyes competed with hysterical fits of laughter throughout the story.
The narrators did a lovely job too. The male convincingly manages to convey so many different emotions from Chris, Phil & Michael making it credible to listen to. The females did a nice job too, although their dialogues were fewer.
I really recommend this story.
