What an amazing man Tyndall was!
This is a wonderful book, so beautifully written and so clearly and warmly read! The story of how Tyndale strived all his life to produce an English language Bible is inspiring. The final result, his magnificent New Testament, echoes through the ages, contained in the KJV Bible’ NY -80% of which is Tyndale. He gifted us the modern English language and had an impact on our daily speech as strong as Shakespeare. Hear more about him in this fabulous book- one of the best I’ve listened to.

A truly worthy account of the life of a truly great man
This is a superb work. It contrasts the humanity of William Tyndale and his brutal adversary, Thomas More, now a saint in the Catholic Church. The research into this work is exhaustive and paints the picture of a kindly man in Tyndale, preaching the true teachings of Christ contrasted with Thomas More, a man who delighted in burning “heretics” and other hideous acts of cruelty. How Pius XI could canonise this man and the Catholic Church continue to celebrate him is beyond belief. William Tyndale, on the other hand, deserves to be celebrated for his attempts to enable every English person to be able to read the Bible in their own language and thereby “hear”:Christ’s words for themselves. I recommend this book to people of all persuasions. Wonderful, and the superb narration by Simon Vance adds so much to the experience.
