Summary
Twelfth Knight is a retelling of Shakespeare's classic romantic comedy with a fresh, modern twist!
Where there’s love, there’s misery.
Violet Noble loves a good challenge. That’s why her parents were so insistent on getting her and her twin brother Sebastian a scholarship to Shelfbrooke Academy. But when Sebastian bails on the plan, Violet is left alone in a strange land of rich kids and hot rugby players.
When Violet discovers the academy’s online gossip forum, she finds the courage to comment...under her brother’s profile. Before she knows it, she's giving dating advice to the captain of the rugby team Owen Duke and flirting with his beautiful ex-girlfriend Lily Thorn.
Now, Violet is falling for Owen, and Lily is falling for fake-Sebastian, and everyone is miserable. Can Violet clean up the mess she’s made...and, somehow, keep her new friends in the process?
A retelling of the classic Shakespearean play, Twelfth Knight is a novel in the Shelfbrooke Academy series, a collection of retellings that promise to be a lot more fun than the originals. Enroll at Shelfbrooke Academy today!

An enjoyable and clean adaptation
Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of YA novels... but for some reason, I’m not sure why, I find Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night story and any adaptations of it thoroughly enjoyable and intriguing so I was keen to read/listen to this story. I thought the narrator did an excellent job of conveying the emotions expressed by all the different characters and her tone was easy and pleasant to listen to (however the occasions sounds in the background during recording where distracting).
The story itself I also found quite enjoyable. There were some aspects that were not in favour to my personal taste. Having watched the movie “She’s The Man” (which I enjoyed) I couldn’t help but draw a few comparisons. There were some similarities, but there were also enough differences to be able to view this story as separate and original in its own way.
Whilst it’s not my favourite book of all time, the content was clean and I enjoyed listening to it overall.
