Suprisingly funny, but a bit to long

the story is really funny, with the story told from several other people that tries to make sense of the main character.

it was not as fun the last 1-2 hours, and I will not read the next book since the concept gets a bit old after a while.

Surprisingly funny

There is great comedy in this book that comes from the way the other characters react to the main protagonist. A rather sardonic take on how to manage a horde of monsters.

feel abridged but still good

it's a weird book to review as I did enjoy my time with it. the nps and mc are fun enough and the beginning really hooks you in dispite it trailing at the end. my main problem is it feels like the book is missing an hour or so that the editor decided wasn't necessary and multiple times in the 2nd half of the book it felt like characters appeared or disappeared at a whim and extremely powerful game ending items are made with the intention of being explored then only getting 2 lines dedicated to them.
still worth a listen if it's included in your membership

strange pacing,

the pacing of the righting really ruins what would be a great lit rpg, at points it feels like entire paragraphs have be condensed down to bulletpoints. which is a real shame as its genuinely funny and with a bit more world building super interesting!

What a surprise

I listened to this as a kind of time-filler - initially. However, I was quickly drawn into the story...it is engrossing, with flashes of unexpected humour alongside the good, solid plot. I loved the performances too - they really livened up the story for me.

Not only would I recommend this audio-book, but I will certainly be checking out the others in the series. Nice one - a genuine surprise!

Enjoyable but not memorable

it's well worth a listen but probably won't stand out amongst the many similar books out there.
