Summary
What does dating the boss + meddling ex-wife + most adorable three-year-old ever equal? Trouble in Loveland.
At 17, Charlee Jensen packed her bags and left her beloved hometown of Loveland, swearing she would never have anything to do with the men that left her heartbroken: her father, the man who taught her heroes can fall; and Ryan Carter, her much older neighbor and teenage crush.
Now eight years later, Charlee has two degrees she never wanted and no job prospects, forcing her to swallow her pride and come home to work for her father's accounting firm - the same firm where newly divorced Ryan Carter is now a partner.
But trouble starts to stir when Ryan realizes the girl next door is all grown up and completely smitten with his adorable three-year-old. Ryan finds it hard to resist his beautiful, yet annoyingly charming neighbor and coworker, but is torn between his feelings and trying to keep the peace with his ex-wife, the mother of his child. It's a recipe for trouble. Will Charlee and Ryan find the formula for success?

Cute but a bit problematic
So I kind of liked the trope and the book was cute in many ways. There’s some
Issues I had with the book though. The character of the MFC had a great background story but thought it could be more implemented in the whole relationship development. It feels like her past would affect her decisions more and how she’d act when faced with the MMCs action. The MMC also had a great back story, but his action I felt was so disrespectful at times I’m surprised they even made it and the last time he f-ed up I felt he wasn’t even deserving anymore. He acted really problematic at times and it left a bit of a bitter taste. I mean you can put your child first without throwing a partner under the bus… repeatedly. Then it all just went away with a snap of the fingers and everyone lived happily ever after… 😬
The writing and pacing of the book was good though and the narrator did a good job portraying all the characters and the story at large.
