Summary
In 2013, actress, television personality, and Sunday Times best-selling author Lynda Bellingham was diagnosed with cancer. Until now, Lynda hasn't spoken publicly about her illness - she has felt strongly that everyone's experience of cancer is so different, and she wanted to keep what she has been going through personal to her while she came to terms with her life now.
But in this memoir, Lynda talks with beautiful poignancy about her life since her diagnosis, her family, and how together they came to terms with a future they hadn't planned. This is a brave and brutally honest memoir, and yet even when talking about these deeply personal experiences, Lynda manages to spread her infectious warmth and humour, bringing light to a very dark time.

In the search for her father's family, Lynda finds a family with a history in entertainment, showing that acting was always in the blood.
Lynda Bellingham is a tremendously gifted storyteller with a rich collection of tales of love, loss, and laughter, and this book brings her kind heart, courage, and emotion to every minute in vivid detail. A brave inspirational lady with dignity!
Where does There's Something I've Been Dying to Tell You rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I really enjoyed this book having followed Lynda's career through my teen year's until the current day. She tells her journey of Cancer in such a poignant way with dignity and it doesn't feel negative at all. She remains positive and witty throughout the entire book.
What other book might you compare There's Something I've Been Dying to Tell You to, and why?
Personally I can't liken it to anything else that I have read. This isn't like a typical memoir of which I don't normally like but I was drawn to this book because of Lynda's attitude towards her death.
What about Sue Holderness’s performance did you like?
She really did it justice. After a few chapters I almost forgot it was Sue's voice and I just felt like it was Lynda's voice shining through.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was moved by the moments away from the public eye when Lynda talked about the true emotions of her loved ones in the lead up to the end of her life.

Outstanding
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
My first audio book, I was moved to hear the account of Linda's battle with cancer and her heart felt saying good bye to friends and family. Sad but inspiring how couragious a human spirit can be.

Surprisingly depressing and voyaristic in parts.
A fabulous charismatic woman desperately trying to navigate through a terminal illness. The book does not reflect her most recent interviews. Some of the messages from Lynda to her immediate family were uncomfortable to listen to. The narrator read in a mono syllabic way in sections and although the book must have provided a level of therapy for the author, it felt voyeuristic to listen to and extremely raw in parts, which of course is extremely understandable but a difficult experience for the listener.

Linda I watched your fireworks.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The book will inform those that do not know about cancer, how we are effected when we have it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of There's Something I've Been Dying to Tell You?
I felt like I was there with her, because of the Chemo and all the pipes.

I am from Bradford, worked at the London clinic and have stage 4 cancer, been through those chemotherapy hoops. I will miss Linda, a Kindred spirit.

Desperately wanted to hear this book. At times I thought it was rather boring, but wanted to continue, out of respect and sadness for her.
