Summary

Concluding the AGE OF MADNESS trilogy, THE WISDOM OF CROWDS brings the series which is revolutionising fantasy to its stunning conclusion. . .

Chaos. Fury. Destruction.

The Great Change is upon us....

Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: the Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds.

With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption. Orso will find that when the world is turned upside down, no one is lower than a monarch. And in the bloody North, Rikke and her fragile Protectorate are running out of allies...while Black Calder gathers his forces and plots his vengeance.

The banks have fallen, the sun of the Union has been torn down and in the darkness behind the scenes, the threads of the Weaver's ruthless plan are slowly being drawn together....

Greatest fantasy series I've heard

With no shadow of a doubt the best series of books I've ever heard. Hard to imagine anything better.

Abercrombie and Pacey get better and better

What a fabulous evolution of the story. I can’t wait for the next trilogy. Hurry up Joe.

No one writes flawed humanity better. I’ve laughed out loud so often, and snorted drinks out of my nose with the dialogue, lain awake listening ‘til exhausted, anticipating what comes next. Plot twists, action, intrigue, horror, humour, vice, depravity.

And Mr Pacey’s delivery is flawless. A fantastic partnership. Long may it continue

Best audio in my library

I wondered if anything could top the initial triolgy and this might have done it. Of all my audio books the brilliance of Joe Abercrombie and genius narrating of Steven Pacey has thoughrully entertained me more than anything. I actually look forward to comuting to and from work knowing I have an outrageous book to listen too. SPOILER ALERT NEXT: Is there any chance the bloody nine ever makes a reappearance in some way?! Can't handle being teased with his name referenced all the time!!

All tied off

Although all the threads were tied off, I felt it was a little predictable in places. Strong characters, good writing and following the excellent second of the three save this trilogy. Overall an accomplished and cracking good yarn.

Another winner from Joe

Another cracking book, narrated with the usual brilliant voices and humour. Continues the story and the trials of the great characters

Epic

Started this book but soon realised that I needed to listen to the first two books again before I could really get into this one. Actually enjoyed the first two books as much on hearing them again as I did the first time and realised I had missed much in both. Once fully updated I dived into this third book which to be honest is a bit of an epic. I could have easily got lost if I had not listened to the first two books recently.
I see some quite negative comments have been left but all I can say is that I really enjoyed all three books.
Steven Pacey you are a true artist of narration. Unfortunately I find myself comparing other narrators to you now and wondering how much better the story could be with your narration.
I see these books described as a Trilogy but it seems as if the story could run and run. Will there be more?
