About this listen

WHO JUDGES A JUDGE?

A corrupt judge is getting away with murder.

Lacy Stoltz investigates judicial misconduct in Florida. When she meets Greg Meyers, an indicted lawyer, he tells her a secret that will put her in the firing line.

Myers has dirt on a judge in league with organised crime who had forced through legislation to build a casino on a Native American reservation. Anyone who opposed the crooked scheme is dead. Now, Myers wants Lacy to make the judge's crimes public.

But if she does, Lacy will be gambling with her life...

It was moderately engaging, tailed off with a narrative towards the end.

A return to John Grisham's earlier form. A tight plot with several strands cleverly woven together.

The narration maintained the tension well.

An excellent read - highly recommended.

Another good legal story from Grisham. The story was entertaining and I listened to the whole book over the course of a few days. It perhaps wasn't as much of a rollercoaster of twists and turns as some of his other books. That said I would recommend.

A good Graham listen

John Grisham has been one of my favorite authors, but his books recently seemed to run out of steam very quickly, and this again, was one of them. The Whistler start off very good and pulls you in, but where it goes wrong I'd there is no depth. I found the characters very one dimensional. And then it comes to an end! I think it could have gone on a bit longer. Really didn't get on with the person reading. Her put on voices for characters just annoyed me. I'll still be a fan of Mr Grisham, but please let's have a non rushed novel next time.

Was waiting for Part 2
