Summary

"One of the few places left to look for meaning in our contemporary culture is in story and myth," suggests Michael Meade. Weaving rhythm and words, this master storyteller, drummer, and scholar of mythology takes us on a compelling journey of self-discovery down the "roads of fire and water". Through two timeless stories - "The Spirit in the Bottle" and "The Water of Life" - we will learn how to relocate the spirit in our lives and awaken "the elder", an inner wisdom source.

From breaking through denial to exploring the genius within, Meade covers a variety of topics that take us to another time and place - an inner territory where we drink deeply of the elemental truths. With hypnotic and fiery storytelling, The Water of Life offers nourishment and inspiration for connecting to the generative forces that nourish all life and offer personal meaning.

Story that comes alive

Pure gold. I am a middle aged woman, and Michael Meade has plenty to give to me in these stories that he tells in an uniquely urgent and compelling way.
This would also make a great gift to someone entering young adulthood.

Enter with an open mind,

Enter with an open mind and you could leave with an elder perspective, because wisdom is about experience not age.

Not my thing

I was gifted this but it wasn't for me and it seemed dated. Reminded me of William Shatner doing spoken word pieces in the 70s but not as good.
