About this listen

Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself.

Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

Though it was written for writers, it has been embraced by business entrepreneurs, actors, dancers, painters, photographers, filmmakers, military service members, and thousands of others around the world.

VERY good, but annoying music in between

the content is fantastic. The military style music score between and sometimes in the sections was so very annoying. especially when he talked over it. recommend the hardcover if you're sensitive like me. Excellent book all in all.

Needed kick in the S

Entertaining and easy to listen despite the rich language. Makes you hurry back at (your) work.

Initially functional but spins off

Great book but by the end it's all god talk, still taken away some great food for thought

A must read for any and all creatives and creators

You you are an artist, creator or creative (like they say these days) this is a must read for you. Helpa immensely in understanding why you not doing what you should and that's a first step to actually start doing it.

Moved by Pressfield’s Muse

A frank, funny, and thoughtful walk through the story every would-be creative needs to get off their heels and into their toes.

One of my all time favourites

I have certain 'books' that I pull out every now and then. This is one of them. I listen to this a few times a year. It's funny and painfully true. A great resource for push and inspiration.

Really persuasive arguments to following the muse

I really liked how many actual tips he gave and the way he put them across. There is definitely something in here for every artist. However, nearer the end I disliked how “preachy” he got with what he was saying. There is a limit to how far metafors can go.

Wow

Ok, a very good friend recommended this book to me to help me change my mindset. This is the first time I have ever had an audiobook sound like it was talking directly to me and that the narrator knew me. It has helped me think clearer and act accordingly. I will be listening to this at least once a week for the foreseeable future to listen between the lines. I know I haven’t heard everything so far and I need to dissect this fully. A great book and a great author. Thank you Mr Pressfield.
