Summary

Tara Spencer is the new mother of a baby girl - one who, by all accounts, should not exist.

And though her worries go far beyond diapers and feeding times, she finds herself settling comfortably into the community of Willow Springs, away from the prying eyes of The Brotherhood religious order and former-flame-turned-betrayer Cyril Woods.

But when her daughter goes missing and her best friend is violently attacked, Tara's newfound sense of security comes to a screeching halt. She realizes that nowhere will be safe until she solves the mystery of her virgin pregnancy once and for all.

While DNA testing seems to lead to more questions than answers, Tara struggles to separate friend from foe - until a series of shocking discoveries finally shed light on the greater meaning behind her unusual situation.

In the stunning second installment of The Awakening series, societal roles are tested and religious norms questioned in a thrilling, paranormal pause resister combining elements of Rosemary's Baby and The Da Vinci Code.

The Unbelievers

Would you try another book written by Lisa M. Lilly or narrated by Shiromi Arserio?

I read The Awakening,I like the narrator...not keen on the story

Would you be willing to try another book from Lisa M. Lilly? Why or why not?

probably

Was The Unbelievers worth the listening time?

not to me

Any additional comments?

I found this book to be very long and hard to keep track of the many characters. The original story was not as complicated but as we find more and more 'chosen women' and who is a 'believer' and who is not..it got boring to me.

A great second book

Would you listen to The Unbelievers again? Why?

The plot is really fast paced and very intense. Some of the mysteries are unraveled and some of the questions from book 1 are answered, however by the end we are left with even more than before! We are also left with quite an interesting cliffhanger.

All in a great book.

What other book might you compare The Unbelievers to, and why?

Comparisons are not good as you might not like the book I compare it too and this is a great book. Jump on in and enjoy the adventure.

What does Shiromi Arserio bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Shiromi Arserio is very pleasant to listen to and really gets into the story without over acting. She brought the characters and story alive and I hope she narrates the next one.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This is what I would call a paranormal mystery and I'm completely engaged with the story line. It's very well written, the character's are well developed and it's really been a great book.
