About this listen
To save the one she loves, Ember must risk it all in a magical battle that’s been lifetimes in the making.
As their enemy grows more powerful, Ember Brighton and Rane Andersson are at a loss for how to stop him and restore the balance of time. As their villainous counterpart seems to glean more information on Ember and her time traveling abilities, time is running out to stop him before he becomes impossible to stop.
Retracing their steps may be the only way to discover secrets to eliminating the threat to themselves and to Ember’s remaining family. A mysterious stone that Ember possesses may hold the answers she needs, or worse...the trouble she doesn’t.
But evil isn’t all that’s brewing in this time traveler’s world. The knowledge of being bound to Rane Andersson somehow won’t stop playing in the back of Ember’s mind. But with centuries between them, how bound could they actually be?
When it comes down to it, is the growing connection between Ember and Rane for good, or will it be their downfall as they risk everything to keep the other safe?

Really good
Gosh!!! Why can't things just work well for once, just when everything seems to be going well... something happens that changes everything!!!
I am really enjoying this saga, it's really good, it keeps my attention throughout the book and I am so invested in the story and the characters that makes me feel like I'm there with them.
Really can't wait for the next one to come out on audio, because even though it's going to be the conclusion to the story, I want to know what's going to happen with everyone.
The narration is so good, just as it has been for the past 2 books, Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock are amazing narrators that bring this story to life in a great way, that is completely enjoyable.

Fabulous
Ember is finally back in present day and Rain finds her . She’s come to terms that Fin his her biological father and has never stopped loving her mother and protecting her. They find out who McGregor is working with and why and they go back one last time to try and change the path but things don’t go quite as planned . Loved the narration by Sarah and Aaron and I’m looking forward to book 3 .

Review
I liked this book a lot better than the first one. Since the first book was establishing the story more, this one had a lot more freedom to explore the story. It definitely felt smoother and a lot more easy to follow since Ember now knows about her abilities. There is more story and the plot is a little more flushed out. There wasn't as much action in this book but more traveling. It was pretty easy to follow along where in time they were but I wish that time period was explored a little more. Part of it makes sense that it wasn't since Ember wouldn't be used to the time. But if she followed Rane around, I'm sure she would have been able to pick up on it more since he currently lives in that time. The ending was definitely a rollercoaster and I'm definitely anticipating the next book.
I really, really like Ember as a main character. She's just such an easy character to get behind and I feel like her power growth makes sense. Ember is naturally strong in time traveling but since she hasn't done it up until now, she still has a lot to learn. While she catches on quickly, she still has her limits. In this book, Ember's personal life is a little more explored as well with her Mother, Grandmother, and Finn. I really liked this as it helped learn more about her character. I thought this book really progressed Ember well. Honestly, I wish this whole book was from Ember's point of view. Personally, I just feel like Rane's perspective doesn't really contribute anything beside showing how much he cares for Ember. But, this is clear from Ember's point of view. Rane really doesn't provide any new information as his chapters are from when Ember is with him too. I can see in the end of the book how having his own chapters will be important, but I just felt like they did nothing for this story.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, The Time Traveler's Vampire by Anna Applegate was a great sequel. The story felt like it was advancing at a higher rate due to the first book establishing so much of the world. This book definitely moved at a faster pace and I really felt like the plot was finally coming together. I really enjoy Ember as the main character. Her skills are vastly improving but not at an unrealistic rate. She is really strong and it shows in this book. While I like Rane as a character, his chapters didn't do anything for me. I didn't really get anything from then and felt like it would have been better if the whole book was in Ember's point of view. After the ending of this book, I am eagerly anticipating the next one!
AUDIO REVIEW
NOTE: The narration does not affect my rating of the book.
Well, I think you all know what I'm going to say about Sarah Puckett. She. Is. Amazing. But seriously. I absolutely love listening to her narrations and she kills it every single time. I felt like I didn't enjoy Aaron's as much this time. I don't know if it's because I just really didn't care for Rane's chapters but it also didn't feel like the same quality of recording. Regardless, this audio was easy to follow along and I would recommend it,

Wake me up when the last audiobook is live
Ok! I am sure I am in the same state as Rane right now!! All this angst! My heart is still beating fast at the ending of this installment !!
I grew so attached to the characters it hurts to let them go even if for 2 minutes (or a lifetime depending on how time works)!!
The more I read, the more I fall for Rane! He is the captain of the ship, he has this white Knight quality that makes him save people around him, but what I like the most is his way of acting, reacting to Ember. And his words and unwavering feelings towards her through time!! I mean he has been collecting women’s clothes through time in the off chance he would meet her again and she’d need to blend in! That and all the centuries he waited between their meetings and yet he is not rushing her. I couldn’t pick a specific quote because everything he says to her is so damn romantic! Even when he is making fun of her gawking or when they are in a dire situation.
And the narration is so well done I wish book 3 were already out in audio... Now I am going into book withdrawal. Please wake me up when book 4 is live in audio.

Timeless action
I love this series, and I'm on the edge of my seat to see Ember and Rane get their HEA. All the ups and downs keep you on your toes and I'm glad the third book is out, since I need to see what's next.
Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock's narration brings the story to another level as always.
