Summary

A high-octane Wilde & Chase adventure from the international bestselling author.

World-renowned archaeologist Nina Wilde and her husband, former SAS soldier Eddie Chase, now lead a quiet life—the only real danger posed by their rebellious teenage daughter. Until, on a visit to a newly discovered temple, they're suddenly engulfed in a deadly hunt for an ancient weapon which threatens the entire globe.

From the bustling streets of Mexico City to the mountainous jungles of Guatemala, Nina and Eddie—with daughter Gracie in tow—are the only ones who can prevent an apocalyptic evil seizing control of an unstoppable power.

Battling special operations soldiers and blood-thirsty cults, Nina and Eddie must once again risk their lives to save the world...

The underworld becons

Nina, Chase are accompanied by their daughter Macy as they battle to save the world from a religious cult and corrupt Policemen. Another Great book. Simon Mattacks narrated excellently.

Another hit in the series

Andy McDermott has a great ability at giving you what you expect from his writing but still surprising you in new ways. He’s able to draw out flaws in his characters which provides tension and depth to their interactions with others. They may have crazy adventures but you feel frustrated with them as people and pleased when they grow through events in the narrative. Keep up the great writing Andy!

Not the best.

This isn't the best of the series but a vast improvement on the previous two books. Excellent narration, as always, by Simon Mattacks.

ok

Not as good as previous novels, by the sound of it at the end I think they had one long story and have cut it into two now.

slow

I have read all the books, this one wasn't Andy's best. Disappointed with this book which is a shame.

Not as good as the first ones

Chase and Wilde are still good but the introduction of their daughter (well giving her a bigger role in the store as a teenager) knocks this down a level or two for me.

Not as gripping as earlier stories.

The story was good but it felt like it ended too quickly. Without the big finish. Almost like a part one. It lacked depth in story and characters.

Still love the original characters and this was the first time I’d listened instead of reading the book. That part was great. Hearing the different characters voices was excellent
