Summary

Hi! I'm Tori Madison, and I hate scrubbing toilets, which is unfortunate because my BFF Hazel and I own Bubbles and Troubles, Blueberry Bay's premier cleaning service. When Mrs. Livingston asked us to sort through the contents of her attic, however, we thought our toilet-scrubbing days were over. That is...until we found her corpse.

As if finding our client's body stuffed in a steamer trunk wasn't enough of an upset, someone needed to save her cat from being sent to a local high-kill animal shelter. That person, as it turned out, was me. I had no sooner set up the critter's litter box in my guest bathroom when he revealed another side. A six-foot-four, hunky, Irish side that only I can see.

Before I could come to grips with my new feline friend's secret, Mrs. Livingston's relatives, eager to claim their inheritance, asked Hazel and me to solve the murder. And the amount of the reward was many times over what their aunt owed for the job she hired us to do. Soon we had a plan that included Rune, my new housepet-turned-houseguest.

Enjoyable.

Loved the story, and the narrator is really easy to listen to. My only "complaint" is how many times the word "wicked" is used throughout the book, other than that, really enjoyable.

An unusual cozy mystery

Okay not really sure what genre this book falls under but I still enjoyed it. It's not really witch craft as a cat turning into a man every time they are alone wasn't done by using spells, it was just a strange twist to add something different to a cozy mystery. I liked the characters and the Seances scene with the cat was a lot of fun. The story was definitely driven by the interaction between the main character and the man/cat, which is why I was surprised with the ending. It will be interesting to see where the author takes it from here. The mystery was interesting with a number of suspects to keep you guessing but I did guess who the killer was.
When Tori and her friend discover there new clients skeleton stuffed in a trunk in the attic they were cleaning, she had no idea how her life would change. When nobody claims the cat wandering around the house, Tori takes it home with her. Only to discover he is no ordinary cat. Whenever they are alone he reverts back to his human self, only for the curse to change him back into cat form when somebody comes near. Having two months to feed now, the only way Tori can make sure they eat is to find who killed there client and get paid.
I liked the narrator. She did some good voices and even have Rune an accent. Not sure if was Scottish all the time but it was a lot of fun.
