Summary
Eighteen months after Natalie Gray loses her husband, Bernie, in a horrific hit-and-run accident, she finds love with his best friend, Ed Cooper, and moves into his home with her teenage daughter, Scarlett. But she begins to suspect Ed has a dark side - and even darker intentions. Natalie must get her troubled child to a safer place, but when Scarlett starts to hear voices coming from the empty apartment next door it seems she has unwittingly moved them into the heart of danger.
DCI Tom Douglas is also chasing the truth. As his investigation into the suicide of a teenage girl draws him ever closer to Natalie and Scarlett, will he be too late to protect them from the threat they face or from the truths that will tear their lives apart?

Brilliant book and a fantastic narrator
Another brilliant listen from Rachel Abbott. Tense and nerve tingling and a complete page turner. Just loved it! I love how Rachel, unlike many other authors, always tied up all loose ends, answering all the questions that pop into my head as I go through the book. Love the way she so skilfully creates suspense and with this book it was right up until the final page! Brilliant read and highly recommended.

Fabulous!!
Absolutely love all of Rachel Abbotts books and this one is hasn't failed to impress either. Did not want it to end, gripping and twisting. Fabulous!

Superb!
Excellent characterisation. Delicious build up of suspence. Sensitive narration. Totally engrossing. Had to pace myself to make it last!!

Best so far
Been enjoying this series thoroughly and this has been my favourite so far. Was like 3 different stories that all wound together into one. Had me gripped and questioning everyone!

Certainly kept me listening
I really enjoyed this book, its the 3rd Ive listened to by this author. She is a strong writer, weaves things together very well. The only niggle I had with this book was the ending - eveything seemd to be pilled together rather too quickly for me, it was as though we had to get to a certain point so the next installment could be written. That said, she's hooked me!

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish
Very well written
Narration was good to some extent but I preferred Lisa Coleman who narrated other ones
