Frighteningly brilliant
Hits really close to home, this could happen - we inch closer to this kind of control. Completely identified with this character - there but for the grace of God, this could be any mum that has a bad day or makes a single mistake. A must read, but be ready to re-think and question your parenting skills and your judgement of others!

dsytopian read about perfection in motherhood
Disturbing and frighteningly believable dystopian read about a big brother state reigning control over careless parents. Frida had one awful day. She left her daughter home alone and consequently loses her in family court and is sent to a school for good mothers that intends to scrutinise every move and emotion in order to train her into being the perfect model of a mother. A moving and intense glance into the pressured of being a good parent in modern society that judges every decision. #theschoolforgoodmothers #jessaminechan

Overrated

Very Good Listen
Although the mother in this book did something unacceptable, there couldn’t be such a good story without that fictional happening. It took a couple of chapters to become engrossed, but then I couldn’t stop listening, Mothers bear enormous judgement in our society & no mistake is forgivable, no matter how small, by those who judge; this book takes this fact and runs with it. It’s wonderfully narrated and, without giving anything away, I ended the book really rooting for the main character. A very enjoyable, if sometimes a little gritty, story that’s worth listening to.

Tragic and moving
A dystopian tale of motherhood and repentance at its extreme. Gripping and heartbreaking as women attempt to prove themselves worthy of motherhood under the watchful eyes of the establishment and AI. I couldn't stop listening!
