Summary
In a realm where dreams and reality intertwine, the final battle brews. The gods of Order have vanished. Galen, drawn into the heart of the Dreaming—an ethereal realm where past, present, and future collide—confronts not only his nemesis, the cunning Carnaubas, but a horrifying truth: the exiled gods of Order still hunger for dominion. Luckily, Galen is not alone.
Eve, a young girl gifted with the uncanny ability to see the threads the connect everything, joins him on a desperate quest to find the elusive god of Chaos, their only hope for preventing Order's return. A gripping, poignant and hopeful ending to a great series
This is the fourth and final instalment of this amazing story. Pretty much all bets are off. Our two main heroes Dantess and Galen are trying to withstand the forces of darkness and stop the coming war on two very different fronts. Dantess with fellow priest Myra is battling the Harbingers of Chaos who want to destroy any progress that has been made since ending the reign of Order.
Meanwhile, Galen (with the help of a young girl called Eve), fights in the Dreaming against Galen’s nemesis Carnaubus and the exiled Gods of Order who are hellbent on returning to the world and undoing Galen’s mother’s sacrifice.
The stakes are at their highest and not everyone may make it out alive.
I am 110% emotionally attached to this story and its incredible characters. I was blown away by how the story developed further in this book and how much more we discovered about the characters I adore, specifically Dantess and Galen. Their motivations are always fleshed out which gives gravitas to their actions and allows the reader to connect to the story on many levels.
The narration is once again brilliant at bringing the action alive but particularly in this book, the narrator depicted perfectly the depth of emotion and level of sacrifice the characters were portraying. I felt the story had a sad but satisfying conclusion and all story arcs and threads were resolved providing a perfect sendoff to the characters I’ve been on this journey with. I was sad to say goodbye to this world and its inhabitants but pleased with how it all played out.
Overall a gripping, poignant and hopeful ending to a great series. This is a story I know I will return to time and again.

This is the third and final book in the Chronicles of Chaos series and I've actually gone straight through this whole series in the space of a couple of weeks after seeing some great reviews for it!
You can also see my reviews for book 1 - The Child Of Chaos - and book 2 - The House Of Prophecy.
Once again, this book follows directly on from the events of the second book and so I'd definitely suggest that you read these books in order.
The character progression is important and also the storyline continues directly, with often reference to previous events from both the first two books.
As this is the third book, I won't be dropping any spoilers in terms of plot - but we do see how the effects of book 2 create a new set of problems for the characters.
I loved that we circle back to the start of it all and find a lot of about the original creation of the Gods which fills in some of the gaps and questions we might have had from before.
The plot is well thought out and presented so that it all flows beautifully and there's always something going on to keep you turning the pages.
There are some shocks and twists here though, so do be prepared.
This book perfectly finishes off this amazing series. The storyline ties off all the threads and leaves us with no questions and I love that each of the main characters had their own space, so that it was clear how things were left with each of them.
There's definitely some scope for future writing - if the author chose - maybe a spin off series though as I think that this works so well as it stands now.
A brilliant YA fantasy series which I really enjoyed from start to finish - and will miss the characters now it's all over.
I'm not the biggest fantasy reader - so this really is high praise indeed!

What a great ending to the series!
The characters in these books are fantastic and well written. Each character has an important part to play in the story, not just the main characters. Eve really came into her own in this one, she was the real hero of the book! The sacrifices and choices she had to make were incredible for someone so young. I really felt for her!
I can't believe how many twists and turns this story had. I never knew what was coming from one chapter to the next. The story was wrapped up beautifully with no loose ends. I'm so glad I got to read the audiobook version of this book as Glen is the most amazing Narrator and really brings the whole story to life!
